His dark purple hair would flow just like the waves in the sea. He would always wear a smile on his face, even at tuff times. Times of Despair and seriousness would bring us to respect our captain more because of his responsibility in keeping us safe. He kept us alive until the very end.
"(Y/n)! Mind if you grab me some sake from my room? They should be near my desk!"
He always had a stench of alcohol lingering on him, but that stench had everyone in the crew, including me, feel reassured and safe.
We loved him like a father.
He loved us like his children.
Staring up at the glaring sun with my hand covering my eyes, I could hear my captain rambling on about something.
"Captain Shinki, is everything okay? What's wrong?" I said, tilting my head to one side, showing curiosity.
Captain Shinki tossed a bulky newspaper towards my directing while avoiding eye-contact with me. I successfully caught the newspaper with ease. I slightly looked up at my captain once more before reading the newspaper; he seemed quite irritated, I knew he was trying his hardest to keep his emotions bottled up. Was the news really that bad?
I averted my gaze from captain Shinki and began reading the first page, quickly realizing what the problem was: Monkey D. Luffy. He has just recently entered the new world and it has only taken two year for him and his crew to prepare themselves for the worst. Monkey D. Luffy waited, and acted selfishly on his part. After his brother jumped in front of Luffy without a second thought, one of our crew members saw Akainu, so our crew member jumped in front of Akainu. That crew member was my fiancé: Zelly.
I could still hear Zelly's screaming, he was in agonizing pain. "GO SAVE YOUR BROTHER, ACE! NOW!!" As he said those words, he looked back at me with kind mild eyes. He was smiling at me. I tried running towards him, but all I could do was slowly tumble down while having my shaking hand out in front of me.
He pulled out his arm, in slow motion.
He was trying to reach for me but all he could do was move his lips without making a sound.
I could feel the wind gust through my soul.
I felt a void forming inside of my chest, making my whole body ache from the pain Zelly was going through.
My eyes felt empty. I couldn't see the people clashing with each other, yelling and screaming for help. All my eyes wanted to view was the darkness surrounding my future husband getting penetrated with Akainu's fist, melting Zelly's whole left shoulder.
The melting began to spread through his body.
And all I could do... was watch.
I began to crawl closer to the heartbreaking scene. Solders stepped over my fingers and slashed my back without notice. I was in the way, but I wanted to save my fiancé. My Zelly...
As I gazed up at Zelly's left shoulder, the only thing that could escape was a small hiccup, later turning into sobs of despair.
"{Y/n)..." I widened my eyes with some sort of hope. I cleared my sobbing and painfully cleared my throat, waiting for him to speak again.
"(Y/n)... I-... I'm so sorry for leaving you alone like this... but my body moved on its own..." through his words, he coughed in pain. "I feel like these two will... change the new pirate era..."
Akainu dropped Zelly on the hard stone ground, as if he were only swatting away a fly. I couldn't catch Zelly.
"I feel like those two young men will get along very well with you... maybe you should marry one of them someday... do it for me..."
Those were his last words.
As he was saying his last words, he gave me a slight gentle smile. I could sense some jealousy, knowing that he wouldn't have a life with me anymore.
Akainu was now behind me, speaking. All I could hear from him was utter gibberish. I didn't want to listen to the man who killed Zelly. I didn't want to look at the man who killed Zelly. I didn't want to start a fight with the man who killed Zelly.
Staring down at Zelly, I could see the life from his eyes fade away.
He was dead.
I was too traumatized to check his pulse, knowing that I would give myself some sort of falls hope.
As I stared a Zelly's face for what seemed like an eternity, I heard a loud swoop from above me. I closed my eyes for one second and realized that I was the one who was swooped away.
Akainu sent a forceful punch that was supposed to direct at me, but instead, it went to Zelly. As my jaw dropped in disbelief my eyes widened with fear. Zelly was now literally gone; he was turned into nothingness.
I grabbed the arms of the one who swooped me away from the scene. I could tell that my captain was the one who saved me. I began to move around, trashing my hands to his arms, yelling at him to let me go.
Yelling at the top of my lungs, Akainu now quickly averted his gaze towards me. he was pissed.
"Get it together, (Y/n)! We have all lost comrades and crew members. I don't want to lose you either!! I Know you are in a lot of pain, witnessing a death of a loved one up close, but you have to stay strong and fight through your emotions. You have to understand that Zelly wants you to live on for him. Live your life and have a family. You don't have to do it for him, but just do it for your own sake! Do it for your sanity!"
the captain was looking down at me as we were flying away from Akainu. He knew he was hurting me with his words, but he was right.
I stared at the captain with tears flowing down my eyes, and I just smiled.
Zelly was gone, and so was half of my sanity.
After the war, my captain had me by his side nonstop. He gathered new crew members and we continued our voyage. That's what brought us to this point.
Our crew members got accustomed to our captain quite quickly.
And I slowly got use to enjoying time with people who were still alive.
White beard did not survive the war, so we weren't protected by him anymore. Most lands weren't protected by him anymore.
After the war, we haven't seen Ace or Luffy. We've only seen them on the newspaper.
My captain was reckless, so we were alway on the newspaper: helping the young, elderly, men, and woman in different lands of the new world; clashing with enemies, making peace for the lands we visited; living on white beards memory. We wanted to be peaceful pirates, but we didn't want to be called hero's either.
After finishing our business at fishman island, we immediately decided to head straight to dressrosa.
