"You cheated Stardust. That's what happened."
"You're still on this?" You groaned, the process of you tugging on your snow boots momentarily paused as you turned your head back to Satoru, giving him an annoyed glare that melted through his glasses.
"It's the truth," Satoru exclaimed. His lips quirked up into a smile as he leaned against the pale oak shiplap wall of the mudroom. It was the noon of the next day, the two of you deciding to finally explore the scenic outdoors around you after spending the rest of yesterday playing a series of games that you won overall. Satoru was still in denial, much to your dismay, but you were hopeful that the outdoors will keep his mind off his losses.
"Sure, sore loser. Just put on your jacket."
"Yes, boss."
"You're insufferable." You sighed as you rolled your eyes, going back to put on your boots and outerwear. You were zipping up your cream puffer jacket when you heard a camera shutter with some giggling.
"What are you even laughing about?" You turned, narrowing your eyes and crossing your arms as you stared down the culprit, Satoru holding the DSLR you'd handed him with a radiant grin on his face. "And what's so entertaining that you have to capture it, Satoru?"
"You look like a marshmallow." Satoru giggled, packing the camera into its designated bag along with other essentials you two would need.
"Well, I need to be warm," you grumbled, your lips forming a frown. Lifting your arms to your side, you glanced at the gentle curves of fluff that were keeping you snug underneath.
"I know." Satoru chuckled, walking over to you and placing a gentle kiss on your forehead. "It's just cute."
Your cheeks began to tingle, turning your attention to the bag in Satoru's hands as you mumbled, "Anyways, you ready to head out?"
"Mhm." Satoru let out a warm hum, tilting your head up to face him. "But, I have to do one thing first," he murmured as he lowered his lips to your cheeks, peppering light kisses all over.
"What—what are you doing?" You uttered, moving your hands to block your face as you tried dodging his ticklish pecks, but it was useless as you became cornered against the wall. Satoru pulled away after a few seconds, a smug grin on his face as he brought a hand to your cheeks and forehead, feeling your strong pulse build underneath your skin.
"There," he said, maintaining your gaze, "You should be protected from the cold now."
You were frozen for a few moments as you merely returned Satoru's eye contact. Satoru began chuckling softly, the smooth sound knocking you out of your daze as Satoru moved his fingers against your cheek.
"I got you good, didn't I," Satoru whispered, proud of the flustered expression you had on your face, your eyes holding a sense of bewilderment that Satoru could never get tired of seeing.
