Summary:

The past eight and a half months have been quite a whirlwind from moving to a new place, setting up the nursery, and keeping things going at the company. But the time has finally come for you and Satoru to meet your junior assistant.

Author's Note:

Hey there...it totally has not been nine months since I last posted. I really didn't envision "a while" becoming this long so I apologize. The writer's block hit a new low to the point I couldn't bother to open my doc. However, with Mother's Day happening recently and the timing of the events in the story happening in May, I challenged myself to finish the pieces I had, and here it is! I hope you enjoy!

There was nothing glamorous about pregnancy.

From the random bouts of aches that coursed throughout your body to the need to run to the bathroom if your junior assistant rolled the wrong way. Oh, and not to mention the cravings for foods you couldn't have? It wasn't the most fun time.

The last one had to be the worst. You never realized how often you ate sushi for lunch until your doctor handed you a paper containing a list of "Foods to Avoid". No matter how many times your doctor explained the risks attached to each food, it didn't help the crushing hunger that washed over you if someone walked by with a bento box of sushi or if the scent of coffee wafted from the lounge and you already had your cup for the day.

But this morning, you had a bone to pick with your swollen feet.

Your lips formed a thin line as you kicked off another pair of heels, narrowed eyes full of contempt staring at your swollen ankles as you released an exasperated breath. Why did I even bother? You asked yourself, knowing that this was the inevitable outcome and you only wasted time. But you missed your usual heels too terribly to help yourself, the white heels just paired too nicely with the soft yellow shirt dress you wore. It couldn't hurt to at least try.

The thin line on your face dipped into a frown as you resigned to the cream slip-on mules that sat a few feet away. They had become a familiar companion in these last couple of weeks, and you were tired of changing your outfits to pair them with.

You were tired of a lot of things by now.

"You better get out of there on time, missy," you mumbled, gently poking your rounded belly. "You have until the end of this month before our contract ends. I don't know if I can keep this accommodation up much longer. I need my feet and bladder back."

Soft snickering permeated the otherwise quiet air of the walk-in closet, prompting you to glance in the mirror to find your husband leaning against the paneling. A mischievous smirk was plastered on his face, phone in hand as he gestured for you to continue your mumblings.

"I see the paparazzi have appeared bright and early today," you grumbled, your frown deepening as you approached the mules. "You're very dedicated."

"Of course," Satoru grinned, slipping his phone into his pocket as he strode towards you. "How could I not capture you talking about bladder control?"

You let out a warning groan, tossing a glare in Satoru's direction. He giggled in response, pressing a kiss to your cheek before he lowered himself to the ground. A sigh of relief left your lips as he reached for the mules near your feet, grateful for Satoru saving you from the hassle of bending and picking them up.

But just as his fingers were going to wrap around the shoes, they froze, Satoru looking up at you with a shit-eating grin. "Oh, did you want me to get these for you?"
