    True to their word, Octavia and Connor stopped at a rest stop and let Lucas shift. I had to stand back far enough that his energy wouldnt pull me into shifting as well. Lord knew that if I shifted I probably wouldnt want to shift back. Being in animal form is so much easier than being in human form with all of these conflicting emotions playing ping pong inside of your head.

    Connor raised his hands and blue light emerged out of them and made its way into Lucas. Instantly he hit the ground on all fours. His body rippled and moved and soon fur replaced skin and his bones snapped in half. After a few moments he was in complete wolf form and he took of running.

    "NO!" I screamed. Connor lifted his hands back up. "NO!" I yelled again. "I got this...trust me!" I said as I took off running on foot after Lucas. He was fast and I still didnt want to shift, it wasnt a good idea. So I concentrated on the earth and drew energy from her and shot a ball of energy at Lucas' feet as he ran farther into the woods behind the rest stop.

    It hit a hind leg and he stumbled. But he got right back up and took off running again. "really Lucas? Out of all the times you could have choosen to play tag you choose now?" I grumbled. I summoned more energy and this time the ball was big enough to knock his ass to the ground if I aimed correctly. i threw it and it hit his ass...literally, catapulting him into the air, causing him to do a somersault, then he landed. Face first in the dirt. He was dazed.

    I walked up to him and his dazed wolf looked up at me. "Shift back," I demanded. He whimpered. I used the Alpha tone. "Shift. Back.' I said again. This time try as he did to fight his body, he shifted back into his human state. Still on the ground and dazed he looked up at me.

    "Running from something?" I asked. He growled. "You're no better than Jonas, running away like that, you might as well just killed me." I said to him. He sat up angry this time. "Oh did I press a button? Good. Means theres still a part of you thats listening to me. We have to do this, not for me but for my mother. I cant kill Julianne Lucas, if I did I'd be killing you too,' I explained.

    "All of this makes no sense, how do you know that they arent making all of this up?" he questioned me. "I dont, but Im going out on a limb and Im trusting them. You trust me right?" I asked. He nodded his head in agreement. "Then trust me on this. Its the absoulute last thing on my list of things to do before I die, yes, but I dont want to die not trying. There are more important things and even people at stake than just myself right now. Julianne had the last Saviours killed, whats to say that she wont kill me if I dont find that cure," I told him.

    "We can just run away," he told me, grabbing my arms. "leave all of this behind, I can keep you safe!" he cried. 'I dont need to be kept safe and Im sure as hell not running away. I was born to rid the earth of Julianne, running from my duty isnt going to make the horrors she inflicts on others go away. if I leave, my mother, your mother, my dads could all die." I said. Why wasnt he seeing this?

    "They're all dead anyways, theirs always a consequence to every action Eden ,why dont you see this. Giving Julianne that cure is going to have a consequence, all actions like that do. We could all die in trying to help you find it and then we'd be no where close to fufilling your destiny would we?" he asked me.
