Apparently, vampires were easy to kill, you just needed to get close enough to stake them, set them on fire, or cut their heads off. But according to Alivia, getting that close would be a miracle, if that. I had one job and one job only when we got to Peril and came face to face with Micah and his band of blood sucking heathens, my friends and family had to create a diversion to get Micah alone and away from his followers, and I needed to use my energy and get close enough to stake him. He wanted to be human and Alivia just wanted him dead. If it was the only option to save my mother who seemed to be in the middle of trouble all the time, I was going to do it.

Alivia didnt waste any time, still tired and cranky from our trip, she had us paired up with plastic stakes, that no one knew where she had gotten them. I was paired up with Immanuel, which did no good for my excessively beating heart, Lucas was paired with Amber and so on so forth with the boys, along with Cora and James. That was odd enough on its own that Cora and James were helping. God I hated them

Julianne sat on the sidelines, per Cora's request. As a human she was alot more vulnerable now. And even though she dedicated her ENTIRE life to killing a Metzger Pure Blood she was my responsiblity now, and I wasnt going to have her blood on my hands, unless I was the one that killed her at least. I snickered at that thought as Immanuel brought a well aimed kick my way and caught me in my stomach sending me to the ground in a breathless heap.

"You're dead, Micah won," Immanuel stated. "I was distracted," I said as I got up and clutched my stomach. That was going to bruise. I got back into defense mode and was getting ready to attack when music came out of an Ipod on the ground.

"Stop, let me get a good look at it
So thick, now I know why they call it a fatty
Sh*t so sick got a hit and picked up a habit
That's alright, cause you're all mine
Go on and show 'em who you call daddy
I guess they're just mad cause girl, they wish they had it
My killer, my filler, yeah you're a classic
And you're all mine tonight"

Everyone stopped, including Alivia, and then we all turned to Connor who was doing a little dance in front of a fuming red Octavia. Finally noticing the silence of everthing but the music, Connor stopped dancing and looked up. "What?" he asked. "It gets me pumped up," he said shrugging.

"I cannot believe you love him," I said to Octavia, shaking my head. "You should see him singing Demi Lovato," Octavia said grudgingly.

"But you make me wanna act like a girl
Paint my nails and wear high heels
Yea you, make me so nervous
That I just can’t hold your hand

You make me glow, but I cover up
Won’t let it show, so I’m
Puttin’ my defences up
Cause I don’t wanna fall in love
If I ever did that
I think I’d have a heart attack"

Connor stopped belting out words and then I started laughing. Comedic relief or whatever you wanna call it, that was ridiculous. "i cant believe we just let him do that," Lucas said smiling.
Immanuel shook his head grinning and then got back into his stance, while everyone else followed suit letting Kip Moore blare over the Ipod's Speakers. At least Connor had a wide variety of taste in music.

I closed my eyes and focused my energy on Immanuel and then just as Uncle Jax taught me, I moved just as he struck, the tip of the plastic stake grazing my shoulder just barely. I flung my hand up to grab Immanuel's wrist and I focused on sending blazing hot energy to the tips of my fingers. Immanuel hissed and his stake dropped to the ground as his wrist blistered. I blinked and let go of his hand. "Sorry," Isaid shaking my head to clear it. "Its okay, that was good, really good," he replied. The blisters were black. I almost burned his hand off. Oops.

"Okay switch off, Lucas can you go over to Octavia and James to Eden," Alivia asked, as she was telling everyone else where to go, i caught James glare and Lucas' stare.

Immanuel moved away, slowly at first and walked over to Amber. James walked over and he stood in front of me his hands in his pockets. "Im sorry," he said softly. Just as I was going to reply, Connors Ipod started blaring a song that kinda explained it all.

"Never let a wound ruin me
But I feel like ruin's wooing me
Arrow holes that never close from cupid on a shooting spree
Feeling stupid cause I know it ain't no you and me
But when you're trying to beat the odds up
Been trying to keep your nods up and you know that you should know
And let her go but the fear of the unknown
Holding another lover strong sends you back into the zone"

James looked down at the Ipod and then up at me. "I cant do this," he said gruffly and then he turned and shifted, right there in front of us all, and ran off into the woods.

"These battle scars, don’t look like they’re fading
Don’t look like they’re ever going away
They ain't never gonna change"

If my life was a movie this would be the epic music in the background that made everyone cry because James, no matter how bad of a guy he was, didnt get the girl.

I caught Lucas' eyes and he smiled softly at me. One step at a time. But no matter how many steps I took I always felt like I was going backwards.
