Silver watched in silence as Mal snuck out the front door of the home. Curiously she looked out the window. She watched as Mal kissed someone and climbed on their horse. The stranger held one of the torches from the archives and swung it around for light, they kicked the side of the horse and galloped away. As they left the stranger flung the torch on the ground, the torch rolled around before lighting the dry grass. Silver ran outside and tried to pick up the torch but the wood had already started to burn up. She dropped the torch and looked at her slightly burnt hand. Nick slammed the homes door open and shouted for Silver, he ran to her and hugged her tightly, "Look for Mal i'll get our stuff from the house!" He ran back into the home that had already started burning, he didn't even give her a chance to tell him what she saw. Silver decided to just get their horses. A loud crack came from the house the wooden door frame came crashing down, Nick had just missed it and hurried down the steps. He had a bag slung over his shoulder, his papers stuck out haphazardly and Silver's book was pressed to his chest. He handed it over then inspected a piece of jewelry. He gripped it hard seconds later, He got on the horse and advised Silver to do that same, "1000 steps east and i'll go west! We'll meet back here!"
