GN! Reader, Gohan is buu saga age. Yes, that's my favorite age to write him at.

-----

You've been in your room almost the entire day. You didn't want to come out. After yesterday, you feel like you've been betrayed. You could hear the front door opening, and your eyes narrowed at your door. It was locked, but you had a feeling it wouldn't stay that way for long.

You could hear a nervous voice calling your name throughout the house. "(Y/n)? I... I just need to talk to you! Could you please come out?" You scrunched up your face. You didn't want to.

Yesterday, you saw a whole new side to your boyfriend. He had broken someone's arm, without any hesitation. His strength was inhuman. But you hadn't known that before last night. It made sense, he was in excellent shape and never seemed to break a sweat doing anything.

But, you knew Gohan as a sweet, harmless man. He was loving, and incredibly considerate. He never lost his temper in the entire year that you've been together, and so seeing that was jarring to you.

The issue was, you'd never seen him get protective. Someone was being crude towards you, but they weren't even in your hearing range. Somehow, Gohan had heard it, heard the man talking about you like some object. And when you looked at his face, those normally warm eyes had gone completely cold. It was chilling.

You had watched as Gohan was in the man's face in the blink of an eye. You were stunned, especially with the speed in which he moved. The man had about a head of height on him, but Gohan didn't seem to care. You had called out his name, and watched as he just barely glanced back at you. He was speaking to the man, things you wish you could hear. Maybe then you would've been able to de-escalate the situation.

You made your way over, being close enough to watch the man attempt to strike your boyfriend. Just as you went to raise your voice, you watched as Gohan grabbed the man's hand and crushed it in his own. He slammed the man into the ground, his arm jerking in an unnatural angle. He then let go of him, and stared down at him blankly. And with that, he was by your side again.

You had yelled at Gohan, "What was that? Why did you do that?" And Gohan had just shaken his head, grabbed your hand, and answered you calmly.

"I couldn't stand by while he talked about you like that. I had to do something. I love you too much to let someone talks about you like a piece of meat get away scott free." He brushed his thumb across the back of your hand, which you had yet to jerk away. You stared at him incredulously.

"You could've just killed him," you whispered. He looked back at the unconcious man. With a shrug, he gave a simple answer.

"He would deserve it, at this point." He then began to walk off, your hand still in his. You were in shock. After you two walked far enough away, the situation clicked in your head.

----

Back to now, you could hear Gohan approaching your room. "(Y/n)? Please, I'm begging you, let me see you. I can't have the most important person in my life avoid me, I feel like I could die without you." He spoke softly now, as he got closer to the door. You could hear the soft thump as he rested his head against it. "(Y/n)... please. I don't want you to leave me. I lost control yesterday, I know you're mad. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I just... him staring at you, talking about you like that, it sent me. I never should've done that, I know, but you're worth the world and more to me. I can't... I cant even think of someone disrespecting or hurting you." His voice began to crack, and you felt your heart tug in sympathy.

You began to unwrap yourself from your blankets, as he continued to talk. "I did this to myself. I understand that you won't forgive me right off the bat, you're a person, with feelings, and you don't like violence. I... just don't want you to hate me. I couldn't live with myself, knowing you hate me. You... don't even have to leave your room right now, but I'll still bring you food, and I'll tell you how much I love you, and I'll think about how you're my world, because you mean that much to me. But I'm begging you, please, tell me you don't hate me." You sat at the edge of your bed, watching the door. It didn't move, nor did he speak any more. You slowly got up, approaching the door hesitantly.

You didn't speak, as you stood there for a moment. You felt immensely guilty, you'd never heard this sort of tone or desperation from him. "(Y/n)... please," he sounded like he was tearing up. You felt a lump in your throat.

"...I don't hate you." You spoke incredibly soft. "Gohan, I promise I don't. But yesterday... scared me. I never knew you had that in you."

Gohan's voice was a wisp. "I scared you?" He sounded absolutely broken at that knowledge. He took a quiet, slightly shuddering breath, like he was trying to not break down. You felt your heart tug.

"You did." You affirmed, gently though. "You're always so calm and collected... that was incredibly concerning to witness." You put your hand on the door knob, but hadn't unlocked it yet. "I never thought that you... would be capable of something like that. Let alone be so unforgiving in the moment."

"(Y/n)..." His voice wavered as he spoke your name. You could tell that he was sitting at the door now, with his head still pressed against your door in some manner. "I... I know. I know that what I did was horrible, and even scarring for you to witness. I never meant to scare you. I never meant to lose control. I thought that I had everything together, but I slipped up. And... you shouldn't have to feel like I'm a loose cannon that you need to be constantly wary of. I want you to know that I'd protect you with my life and everything I have. I would. You're so incredibly dear to me, (Y/n), and I am so, so sorry you had to learn about that side to me at all."

You felt yourself caving, and you unlocked the door slowly. You opened it even slower, and felt the weight of Gohan slip away from it. You said nothing once the door was open. You just stared at your boyfriend, who had tears on the edges of his lashes. He remained seated, and quickly wiped his eyes before he looked at you.

"(Y/n)..." he sighed, quickly looking away from you. "You're the best person I've had the pleasure of meeting. I never should've lost control like that, and you never should've had to witness that. I've only snapped a very few times in my life, and I don't know why it happened then. I wish it didn't." He slowly stood up, and looked at you, now.

You looked back, though you didn't feel a sense of unease. You expected yourself to, though. You watched Gohan as he closed his eyes for a second, only to open them as he talked to you again. "I will do anything to make it up to you. To show you how much I mean this. I'd put my own heart on a plate for you. I'd do anything you want me to, buy you anything, spend all my time with you, leave you be for a while. I just... want to be the perfect boyfriend. And I'm not perfect, but I'm going to work harder to be that. I promise you."

You were a bit surprised by his proclamations. You watched as he began to look at the floor, and you reached for his hand. You took it carefully in your own. "Gohan... no one's perfect. But I need to know that I can trust you to not hurt someone else. That was... really disturbing for me. But, I want to be able to trust that you won't do it again. If you do, I don't think I could stay with you."

Gohan nodded gently. "I understand. I will prove it to you. I... I can be perfect. For you, I will be." You stared at him, as he spoke. He appeared to be more determined now.

"Gohan, you don't need to. You're a person, not a robot."

Your words had no effect on him. He was going to shape himself into the perfect boyfriend, one way or another.
