You had been feeling down and out, lately. It wasn't a good feeling, but you had nothing to currently drag you out of it. It was like a sinking, deep sadness, that stewed and festered. It was almost worse than being angry.

You'd been holed up in your house, sinking in all that alone time. After all, what else were you to do? There wasn't much. You could try your hardest to be okay, but sometimes, you can't pretend to be happy for others. And that's okay.

You were now sitting on your couch, with a favorite drink of yours in hand. You had a blanket you liked draped over your shoulders, and you stared out the window. Dark clouds hung over the sky, and you sighed a little. It was nice out. Considering your options, you chose to move your sitting to the porch, instead. So, you did. You gathered yourself up, blanket, drink, and all, and made your way to the porch. You sat on the edge of the stairs, and held your cup with two hands for a moment. You didn't have anything to do with the other one for the time being.

You took a drink from your cup, before hearing a loud whoosh of wind. You quickly looked towards where it had came from, and were stunned to see a certain someone. She was dressed in her more warrior type garb, with her jean jacket and her sword on her back. Her hair was tied up in a tight, well made ponytail. "Uh... Trunks? Are you alright?"

You spoke hesitantly, and she immediately looked at you. Her face noticable brightened up. "Hey! I haven't heard from you in a few days, so I came to check in on you. I thought someone might've done something with you, so I came prepared! Turns out I was just being paranoid," she giggled a little, coming to sit beside you on the stairs. She had taken note of your sad air.

She put a gentle hand on your shoulder. "(Y/n), you've been... off, lately. If you need anything, need anyone, I am always here. I care about you a lot, and I just want to make sure that you know." She looked at you with a soft sort of understanding. Her normally somewhat sharp facial features had relaxed themselves as she spoke to you, and it was obvious that she was being authentic with you.

After she did this, she brought one of her knees closer to her chest, and hooked her arms around it. You still held your drink your hands, and looked down at it, before back up at her. She was trying not to be obvious about her glances at you. But, that failed.

Your shoulders were tense, and you sighed a little, allowing them to go slack. But they were still aching, much to your dismay. "I know I've been off lately. I'm sorry that you even had to notice that." The moment those words were out of your mouth, she turned to you, surprised.

"What? Don't be sorry for that. I worry about you, is all." She went to continue, but you ended up talking before she got anything out.

"I've been trying really hard to keep people from worrying. But, I guess I failed at that, too." You shrugged. "Can't always win." Trunks stared at you. Her icy clue eyes stared at the side of your head, yet you didn't glance anywhere near her.

"(Y/n)... what's going on?" She asked you, gently grasping the hand closest to her. She moved in front of you, to be able to look at your face. You didn't move away, though you felt a little bit of the urge to do so.

Your eyes flickered towards her feet, only to meet her gaze again. Her eyebrows were soft and resting, and her eyes conveyed her attempts to figure out your dilemma without you having to say a word. Her lips were slightly downturned, and stayed that way. There was a moment of silence. It was emotional, heavy.

After this moment, she spoke up. But she spoke delicately, now. "C'mon, let's go inside." He helped you up, keeping your hand in her own. Once the two of you were inside, she sat you down on the couch. She grabbed a pillow, because she knew were they were, and brought it to the couch, too.

She left the cup in your hands, and stood in front of you. She had thrown her jacket on the back of the couch, but left everything else that she was wearing on. Her movements were deliberate, and she tucked the blanket on your shoulders closer to your body for you.

It was odd, how Trunks was acting. She was someone who was pretty easily embarrassed, but also very passionate. She was decently high energy, but now? This was a new side to her. It was nice, though. It showed how much she cared.

"(Y/n)?" Her voice broke you out of your thoughts. She wasn't used to the silence from you, and it struck her with even more worry. You looked at her, and she kneeled down by your feet. She was a pretty tall girl, about 175cm. She put a hand on your cheek, and looked at you with tenderness.

"I... can tell you're going through it. I get it, if you don't want to talk about it. Not everyone does. And that's okay. You don't have to talk. But I need you to know that I'm here for you. You can't isolate yourself from everyone. I promise you that you're not a burden of any kind, cause I've noticed that you seem to feel like you are. You probably don't feel too amazing, but I need you to know that you are. You very much are, and I think you don't hear it enough." She spoke quietly, and brushed her thumb along your cheek.

"You don't always have to be strong. Its okay to not be strong, sometimes. But remember that you don't have to go at it alone. You have me, and you have others, too. I know it's hard to not feel alone, but I just need to make you aware, y'know? It's... hard." She sighed a little.

Trunks scanned your face, her eyes darting around for a moment. "You're really important to me, (Y/n). And others too. But, I would fight anyone for you, I really would. Hell, I was about to. I don't know if someone's making you feel this way, or if you're working through some things, but be sure if you ever needed me, I could help." She finally ended her speech, rising to her feet again. She put her hand on top of your head, before leaning down and pressing a kiss to the crown of your head.

"I think we can get through it together. You shouldn't have to go at it alone. But, I get that you need alone time, and I think you deserve it. Now that I know that you're alive, do you... want some company, or do you want me to head back home?" She gave you the option to kick her out, seeing as she didn't want you to feel like she was forcing you to let her stay.

You glanced at the floor, and then at your drink. You looked at her boots, and her baggy pants. 'She really did come battle ready.'

"You can stay." You spoke quietly still, and she smiled a bit. She sat down beside you, and after a moment, began to rub little circles into your back.

"I'll stay as long as you'd like. Just let me know."

You hummed quietly in response. Maybe you'd talk about your issues to her, soon. For now, you can just enjoy her company.
