Melanie- The Full Moon (ON HOLD)

Jackie -Chapter 10

"Melanie!" I jumped in surprise, almost dropping my books I was returing to my locker. I twilered around to see my best friend, Jade. She was one of my only friends. Whenever Kevin wasn't there, she was, ever since we moved in with Uncle Daren and Aunt Jessica. Jade's wide eye's, sparkled with excitment. Her light brown, shoulder length spiral locks, bouncing freely as she runs over to me.

She's really like your typical popular girl, I guess you could say. Most of the guys at school can't resist her. Her face is pretty much flawless. Her chocolate brown-purple eyes always so big with some kind of spark in them. She has a few freakles her and there on her noes and cheeks. And a birthmark on the left side of her collar bone about the size of a quarter, shaped as a cresent moon, but I think it's more like a banana, and her small but tall frame, complimenting her thin weight and style in fashion. I shut my locker and accepted her strong embrace. I missed her comforting cheerfulness, her big smile, the bounce in her voice when she laughes and talks to me and her smell. Its been a long weekend. Everyday she always smelled like raspberry. I closed my eyes and hugged her back with the same strength.

"Ohmygosh. Melanie! You shifted!" I looked at her, shock. How does she know about this?

"Uh...yeah. How'd you know?" She pulled away from the bone crushing hug and put both hands on my shoulders and stared into my eyes. Her eye were gleaming with overwhelming happiness with the wide, joyful grin of hers.

"Your brother And your Uncle are so proud of you! They told everyone in the entire school that you shifted and that your now physically just like everyone else." My eyes widned. I grabbed her arms on my shoulders and squeezed them. I'm so confused. What's going to happen to me? What do I do? A whole bunch of questions started swarming in my head like a bunch of angry bees chasing a grizzley bear for meesing with their nest.

"Wait? What do you mean physically just like everyone else?" I asked utterly confused and scared as I started into to her eyes looking for an answer. She looked at me worridly and her joyful smile mixed with sadness. She rubbed her hands up and down my arms.

"Melanie. This is an all werewolf school." I froze and jaw dropped at her words, which just made me even more confused. I looked at her, waiting for her to explain. She's got to be kidding, right? I would have noticed something wouldn't I have? She sighed heavily. And looked into my eye's, going into serious mode. Whenever she's like this you know to keep close attention.... Or else nothing good happens. I learned that the hard way, shorta. She loves me too much to be too cruel to me.

"The reason why you never noticed is because Alpha Daren and Kevin gave the whole school an order not to say anything to you about werewolves and to act like normal people whithout special abilities, if there was a conflict between anyone that called for violince they'd have to take it away from you, out of your reach. They didn't want to put you into a normal school incase you shifted there and who knows what whould have happened then? Alpha Daren had a feeling your wolf will find a way to come out. Everyone listened and obeyed the order, no questions asked. Well, because your Uncle Daren is the Alpha, and everyone is scared of Kevin whenever it comes to you." She squeezed my shoulders again and smiled a little, Then continued.

"Your brother is Alpha Daren's third in command or Gamma. And a tracker. Previouly Ralph, your father was the Alpha, but then your Uncle took over since Kevin wasn't old enough yet or trained and combined his pack with his." I liked it when she never talked about the incident with my father. If she had to mention it was only once and she never repeated the words " your father" and replaced it with "he" or his name, occasionally. She somehow understood and respected how it made me feel and always avoid the topic with ease.

"Once you guys turn 18 he has told Alpha Daren to have both you and your brother to take over and lead the packs and Alpha Daren shall be your guys third in command. Once you find your mate the whole pack will be unbeatable and the strongest pack in the state to have the full moon as there Luna. You, Kevin and your mates with choose one warrior, soldier or dear friend you can trust to be your beta and second in command. " She smiled and hugged me again, this time it was a comforting, yet tight hug.

"That's in one year and a few months." Jade let go of me and smiled ear to ear.

"I know. That's why everyone is so excited and surprised and relieved that you finally shifted. Then when you showed Alpha Daren one of your abilities. Ralphs theory was correct." Okay...so my father was a werewolf too. Huh. Okay, I geuss everyone I know is a werewolf.

"And how do you know all of this?" She laughed.

"I'm apart of the Midnight tribe. And my mate is the current beta, along with us growing up together for half of our lives once you moved here, silly." Im kind of still confused about this mate thing. I'll have to ask Charrolate about details later maybe.

"Where do all the pack members live at then? How come I haven't seen them in the house."

"There's a small village just east of your house in the woods that He and Alpha Daren purchased where all of the other pack memebers live. But since my brother, Jack, is going to be the beta for Kevin when you guys take over, we live in the main house, on the guest floor below your floor along with Zaine."

"Oh. Okay... That makes sense." Jade and Jack has always been living with us in the bottom half of the mansion, they were there when we first got there so I never really questioned it. I don't really like the fact that Zaine has been in my house with me not knowing. He doesn't seem to like very much at all. She smiled and nodded her head in approval then grabbed my hand.

"Hmhm. Come on lets go grab some lunch, I'm starving." Jade said as she dragged me to the direction of the cafeteria.

We sat down at our usual table with Kevin, Jack, Zaine and a few other peopel I never really ever paid close attention to. Zaine never really paid much attention to me though, only because I'm Jades best friend, I think it's the only thing keeping him from wanting to strangle me for some reason.

"Hey, Mel."

"Hey, Jackie." I said sweetly and smiled at him. Jack grimaced at the nickname I gave him when we were little. I never really liked it when people called me Mel, it just doesn't fit. And it pretty much is only Jack who calls me that.

"You know I don't like being called that."

"Right back at you." He rolled his eyes and smirked as he giggled a little to himself and shook his head.

"You know, I think Jackie sutes you." Kevin budded into the conversation.

"I can tolerate her, but you absolutely cannot call me that." Jack growled to Kevin. Jade and I giggled.

"What? I mean, what's so different about us?" Kevin said in a mocking tone as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders and shooted me next to me. I rolled my eyes and elbowed him in the ribs.

"Don't you pull that twin thing on me. She's adorable, smart, funny and can kick someone's ass if she needed to. And your just an arrogant dickhead who uses his looks to an advantage." Jack said and started munching on a carrot. I laughed.

"You'd only know that from experience, Jackie." He smirked and laughed lowly, still munching on his carrot.

"I don't deny. I am pretty arrogant. But I'm only a dickhead when I'm around you."

"Who'd think one of the sexiest girls here wouldn't be attracted to one of the hottest guys here in school?" Jack said, ignoring Kevins remark. I smirked and raised an eyebrow at him as I tilted my head a little, giving him the 'am-I-really-that-hot-to-you?' look. Kevin let go of me and laughed with Jack, as the memories of me kicking his ass and showing him off when he pinned me to a locker, trying to kiss me.

"Yeah, you'd never want to try to make a move on her again after that." Kevin said while laughing even harder. Jack rolled his eyes and tossed a grape at his face. Jade and I giggled. Kevin just went back to his lunch. I smiled and picked at my salad as I shook my head.
