Alpha Lady Luna

Ashton disappeared between his elite team, who marched toward us. Everyone charged toward the werewolves.

The fight started with both sides running toward the other. I was even able to take down a few others before I paused to look around.

Around me, my pack and McClain's pack were fighting this group of highly trained men. I noticed that while both packs were helping each other, they were able to take down the other wolves.

I couldn't help but wonder how McClain was able to hide away a team of what looked like a hundred men and trained them in secrecy.

Punishing one of the soldiers, I saw Ashton running away. There's no way I could let him get away. Not without my son. I did a quick scan of the battle and saw Isis taking on three others. He always were one hard person to take down.

Hurrying to his side, I helped him take down one of the men attacking him, before turning to him.

"Ice, take care of the rest." I told him and pointed to the direction where McClain had flee. After he nodded, I ran forward after Ashton.

"Yes, Alpha." I heard him call after me. He could handle himself. I was sure. My whole pack could.

I chased after Ashton. Through the trees, I leaped over fallen logs and leaves and sticks broke under my feet. In the background, I heard Santana's voice. I knew he would get a few together to follow after me.

Leaping over stones and fallen logs were less of a challenge than running on the uneven ground. Everything around me blurred together in a mixture of greens and blacks. I could taste the stale air on my tongue.

I saw Ashton in the distant. He was maintaining a good distance. What's worst he kept his distant despite me speeding up. It was like trying to keep up with an award-winning runner. Alphas generally are faster than the majority of the pack anyway, so I shouldn't be very surprised.

The main thought going through my mind was my son. Ashton had him taken somewhere and he was the only one who knew where he was. They already cut off his finger. The next thing they would want to do is kill him. I can't have that.

I can't lose my son to these monsters.

The image of Casper's face flashed before my mind. What was worst was that I had to think about him being along for so long.

I could feel that he was scared, maybe even had being crying. As soon as I catch up to Ashton, I'll make him regret taking my son.

I managed to lessen the distant between us by cutting through some bushes. He was within eye sight, yet it seemed like he had slowed down purposely.

Then he does something I didn't expect: Ashton shifted into his wolf, a solid black wolf. Using his speed, he ran faster.

Where was he leading me, I wondered. There's no way he was running blindly through the forest. He was leading me somewhere, but where.

I, in turn shifted, into my wolf, forgetting that my clothes would be shattered. I suppose the only thing that mattered most was getting my kid back. With the speed of my wolf, I was able to get just behind McClain. I could heard him panting, yet he didn't seem bothered by my closeness. Instead, he let out a chuckle in the way a wolf could and speeded up a little. We ran like this for a good ten minutes. I was growing tried and annoyed, but I couldn't give up.

Oh well. He had my son, and I wanted him back.

Taking a sharp turn, we ran through a dangerous path through the forest. The once uneven ground changed into one that was hard and pointy with jagged rocks. In the distance I could make out rocky mountains.

Where was he leading me?

We took a path that lead way up into the mountains. When Ashton disappeared around a ledge, I quickened. I couldn't lose him now. Not now.

As I rounded the ledge, I saw that Ashton had stopped in a tight place clearing where only two can fit in. After I follow him into the small opening, a large boulder was pushed in front of the entry. I muttered a cuss.

"Where is my son, McClain?"
