Meet me at our spot (A)

“Lisa…what if my dad walks in?” Jennie stiffens as the blonde caresses her waist from behind. She couldn’t help melting into her touch though. Like tasting a forbidden fruit.

Lisa frowned slightly at the brunette's hesitance, her fingers slackening against Jennie's curves. They were in her room and you can say it was risky for Lisa to be there, but she had her reasons. Which was being a clingy girlfriend.

Except the blonde didn’t know if that’s who Jennie considers her to be. Not with her consistent need to push Lisa away when her family was around.

“Are we seriously still at that point? I feel like you become a whole different person around your parents.”

Jennie turns to face Lisa with a stern look on her face and the blonde knew she had gone a bit overboard. “That’s because I am a different person around them. I have to be perfect. I have to make them proud.”

Lisa doesn’t say anything, just sighs in disappointment. It felt like they always had this conversation and it only led to a dead end every time. She never understood the whole “parents approval” thing, but Jennie and her were polar opposites so that altered her perception. She wanted to look at the world through Jennie's lenses but it was hard, especially if she couldn’t get one invite to dinner with the family.

Jennie's father barges in without a single knock and the look of disapproval on his face was far too familiar to Lisa. It felt like deja vu.

He doesn’t bother glancing in Lisa's direction, instead focusing on his daughter who distanced herself immediately. “Jennie, we leave in five minutes. Make sure you have everything because we are not turning all the way back for a tube of lipstick.”

The brunette rolls her eyes when her father finally leaves the room. And of course he didn’t shut the door behind him. She sighs heavily and turns to Lisa with a look of guilt. “Hey I’ve gotta go. But…meet me at our spot when I get back? I’ve got something important to tell you.”

Jennie's voice falters at the end of her sentence and Lisa takes notice until curiosity invades. What could be so important that she had to wait until they were at their spot? The brunette's kisses were enough to distract Lisa until she had to go. Through the window like Tangled of course, definitely not through the front door.

Lisa traced the carving of their initials in the oak tree that stood tall on the peak. The stars decided to show up that day and it reminded her of why they chose this spot.

She heard leaves crinkling behind her and turned to see Jennie. Lisa couldn’t help but smile goofily. It always felt like love at first sight when she saw the brunette.

“I remember when we first carved this into the tree.” She points at their initials, which have made a deep indent into the bark.

J + L 4 Ever. How corny of us.” Jennie fakes a gag but giggles as she wraps Lisa in a tight hug.

The pair sit side by side, their legs dangling freely over the edge of the cliff. Something about it always felt so liberating.

That and their kisses. Lisa's lips were on Jennie's as their tongues danced in harmony. When the brunette pulled away for air, Lisa could sense her distress.

“What is it babe?”

Jennie stands up and brushes her skirt as Lisa follows her a second after. She plasters on the best smile she could, but not her fake one. That one was for her parent’s guests, or company galas.
