You don't love me anymore, do you?
Jennie quickly gathered her things as well as some of her clothes, not wanting to spend a second more in that room than she needed to. She dialed Jisoo's number as she walked away from the place she had called home for almost a year. She was now crying full-blown tears with her hand covering her mouth as passersby looked at her with sympathy. Jisoo picked up on the third ring.
"Hey, Jen— Are you crying?"
"Can I stay with you for a while? I just had to get out of there. I'm sorry. I don't know where else to go."
"Hey, hey, of course, you can. Where are you right now? Do you want me to pick you up?" Jisoo said gently, her voice full of concern.
"No, it's okay. I can get there on my own."
The walk to Jisoo's apartment was a blur. Jennie vaguely remembered someone calling out to her, but she was too busy replaying the last few hours to even notice.
When Jennie arrived at Jisoo's apartment, Jisoo immediately pulled her in for a hug.
"Hey, what happened? Did you and Lisa get into a fight?"
Jennie nodded, unable to speak as tears were now falling uncontrollably down her face. After some time, Jisoo pulled away and gently guided Jennie to the couch, and fetched her a glass of water.
"Whatever happened between the two of you, I'm sure you'll be able to fix it," Jisoo said comfortingly as she gently rubbed Jennie 's back.
"No, I don't think we can fix it this time." A fresh set of tears emerged. "You should have seen her face, Jisoo. She... she... she looked at me like I was..." Unable to finish the sentence, Jennie buried her face in her hands, sobbing.
"Oh, Jennie ." Jisoo pulled her in for another hug.
They stayed like that for a while until Jennie 's cries died down to quiet sobs."I'm sorry. I think I ruined your shirt," Jennie said weakly.
"Eh. It's not my style anyway. I was actually just about to burn it when you came," Jisoo jested, attempting to lighten the mood. Jennie managed a weak smile.
"Are you feeling better?" Jisoo said softly.
Jennie nodded.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
Jennie shook her head. "I think I just need to lie down for a while."
"Let's get you to bed then."
"It's okay. I can sleep here on the couch."
"Nonsense. I'm not leaving you here like that. Come on."
Jisoo smiled gently at Jennie as she took her hand and guided her to the bedroom.
"You can stay here for as long as you need to."
"Thank you, Chu," Jennie murmured, tired from all the crying. After she had settled into bed, Jennie took out her phone and stared at the wallpaper as a lone tear ran down her cheek. It was a photo of her and Lisa with Lisa's arm wrapped around her waist and Lisa's lips pressed against her cheek. Jennie released a trembly breath as she turned off her phone and drifted off to sleep.
—
"Why the long face?" Lisa asked, wrapping Jennie in her arms."Just a tiring day is all," Jennie replied, melting into the embrace.
"I know what'll make you feel better. How about I go out and buy your favorite ice cream real quick, and then we can watch any movie you want. How's that sound?"
