February 19th, 2014:
The beginning of this year has probably been the busiest I've ever been in my entire. We finally finished with all the award shows and the individual performances they required, but we immediately jumped into a comeback. As per past comebacks, we have a performance almost every day, and when we don't, we have variety shows and radio schedules. The comeback itself wasn't all that different, but since it came directly after a grueling awards season, my body was finding it hard to keep up, especially with such an intense dance.
However, we all got an extra boost of energy when we saw just how well the album was doing. It was high on the charts and debuted at number 3 on the Gaon Music Weekly Chart. People seemed to be loving the cheeky way we dissed the system. PDnim had taken a huge gamble on this comeback, and we were relieved to have it pay off. I don't think anyone was as relieved as he was, he was so overjoyed with how well the album was doing he ordered us a full meal, with meat, yesterday, in honour of Hoseok's birthday and how well the album was doing.
However, there were of course several headlines about how anti-feminist groups had put us on the blacklist and called for my deportation. Did they really think the feminist conversation would stop if they deported me? I joked with the boys that even if they deported me, I had already 'tainted' them with my radical thoughts so it would be useless for them to do it.
With the album doing well and our name becoming more common for people to hear, our managers had managed to book us on a pretty popular variety show: Beatle's Code. It was hosted by big names in the industry like Shindong from Super Junior, Jang Dongmin, Shin Dongyup among others. However, yet again, I would be surrounded by men, except for the other guest, veteran singer Park Jiyoon.
------------------------------------------------------
We were currently in the changing room the show had given us. Since they only had two changing rooms available and the other one was being used by Park Jiyoon, I went to go change in a bathroom stall with Yoona's help. I was wearing tight leather pants that took ages to get up my leg, but had pockets and didn't look too sexy. I had a white t-shirt with big black writing running across it and a thin bomber jacket. Converses and large stud earrings finished off my look. And after much deliberating, the stylist decided to keep my hair down.
As we waited backstage for the hosts to do their intro, Park Jiyoon comes up to me.
"It's nice to meet you, I'm Park Jiyoon," she introduces herself bowing.
I bow back, "it's an honour to meet you sunbaenim, I'm Bangtan Sonyeondan's Y/N".
"You can call me Jiyoon-unnie. Let's look after each other today," she says smiling.
I nodded understanding what she meant, we were the only women that would be on that set and she must know better than I do about how men love to control, demean, and sexual women, even if it is so subtly done.
"Yes, let's look after each other," I reply smiling. I see the producer gesturing for Jiyoon to go on the set, "I think they're calling for you to go on stage," say politely gesturing to the producer.
