Sadie Williams
I woke up to my phone violently buzzing on the nightstand.
I inhaled deeply as I reached over, grabbing the phone.
"Hello?" I whispered.
"Megan's stuff is on your couch," Kay spoke into the phone.
"Alright," I nodded even though she couldn't see me.
"She having fun?" She asked, I heard her car start up.
"Yep, she's taking a nap right now," I pulled the phone away from my face. "She's been out for about an hour," I said, bringing the phone back to my ear.
"Okay, just make sure she doesn't sleep all day," Kay laughed.
"I know, I know," I yawned. "Bye," I ended the phone call.
"Bye," I clicked the red button and put my phone back on the nightstand.
I turned over and smiled. Megan was sprawled out on the bed with her feet in Harry's face.
Harry was sound asleep, facing her on his side.
I just laid there and watched. I loved watching Megan sleep. Now I get to watch Harry and Megan.
Life is good.
I haven't felt pure bliss like this in a while.
Not since I've seen Max.
His birthday is coming up.
I felt a spark of hope arise in my chest.
I rolled back over, grabbing my phone off the nightstand. I dialed my mother's number, putting the phone to my ear.
The phone rang.
And rang.
And rang.
And rang.
I was just about to give up when the ringing stopped. My heart dropped to my stomach.
"Hello," a quiet voice spoke. Max spoke.
"Max?" I hopped off the bed. "Max, is it really you?" I put my hand on my forehead.
"Sadie?" He sounded so happy. "Sadie where are you?" He yelled into the phone.
"I'm in LA. How did you get mom's phone?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"She's in the store, I waited in the car," he sounded nervous. "Sadie, we live in LA, how are you here?" What? He's been close this whole time?
"No Max, I thought you were in Canada," I shook my head.
"Mom said she had business here," what business?
"Max, what store are you at?" I walked over to the bed shaking Harry awake. He looked up at me with a worried look.
"Walgreens," He said quickly. I stood up from the bed, grabbing my shoes from the floor.
"Can you tell me what's around the store? So I know which one you are at," I held the phone with my shoulder while I shoved my feet in my shoes.
"There's a Redbox close by," I immediately knew where he was.
"Max, stay where you are. Keep mom at the store as long as possible, okay?" I spoke on the phone.
"Okay," He said, nervously.
"I'll see you soon," I hung up before he could say anything else. I turned around, facing Harry again.
"Did you say, Max?" Harry's eyes were wide.
