"I forgot them at home."

"How did you forget them?!" You slightly raised your voice without thinking.

"I'm sorry," Ayato playfully apologized, "shall I call Thoma to bring them over?"

"There isn't enough time. A taxi isn't fast enough." You insisted.

"Y/n, there is more than enough time... and who said Thoma would use a taxi?" Ayato smiled.

Before you could argue, he pulled out his phone and called Thoma. You hated that you made Ayato go through all that trouble just so you could get a taste of the cookies he baked last night.

Just a minute later, Thoma walked in with a plate of cookies. He handed them to Ayato.

"The helicopter might have caused a bit of attention outside," Thoma whispered.

Your jaw dropped... helicopter?!

Fancy rich people.

"Sorry, I should've suggested something a little less attention-seeking." He responded.

"No worries, I'll be off now, Mr. Ayato. See you when you arrive home." Thoma waved as he walked back outside to the helicopter.

You wanted to peek out of the window to see Thoma fly away in the helicopter, but you decided not to leave Ayato's side.

You followed Ayato over to the table where Ayaka and Yoimiya sat. You sat down next to Yoimiya, sitting across from Ayato. He gently set the plate of cookies on the table.

"Are you sure those are edible?" Ayaka asked her brother.

Ayato nodded, "I made sure to use all the right ingredients. I'm highly certain I didn't mess anything up."

Yoimiya blankly stared at the Kamisato siblings. She missed the whole cookie affair yesterday. She'd only gotten a tiny bit of context while you had a short phone call last night.

You slowly reached your hand towards the plate of cookies. They actually looked like a cookie too, not a pile of ash.

Ayato watched as you picked up a cookie and took a small bite. You were nervous it would have a nasty flavor despite how nice the cookie looked. It tasted far better than expected.

It actually tasted like a cookie...

Just...

A little sour?

Apart from the slightly sour taste, the cookie tasted really good. So you went in for seconds, then thirds.

You accidentally ended up eating all the cookies, "oops," you muttered as your face lit up a bright red.

Your friends giggled as you sat there in embarrassment.

"I'm sorry I should've saved some for you..." You murmured.

Ayato smiled, "no worries, I made them for you, anyway. I'm just glad you enjoyed them."

Yoimiya elbowed you, when you turned to face her she had an extremely smug grin across her face.

"I think he likes you," she whispered.

You slapped Yoimiya, "No!" you accidentally shouted loudly.

She shrugged and continued to glare at you with that grin.

Ayato stood up from his seat, "my class begins in a few minutes, so I shall take my leave. I'll see you later, Y/n."

He walked out of the cafeteria leaving you with your two female friends.

Yoimiya continued you stare at you, "I think he likes you~" she announced again.

Ayaka nodded in agreement, "he is rather fond of you, Y/n"

You blush even more, "I-I'm going to class now!" trying to think of a way to escape this conversation.

Ayaka and Yoimiya sat up the same time you did, "don't forget we're in the same classes," Yoimiya grinned.

You rolled your eyes, "can you just drop the whole thing with Ayato?" you begged.

"Fine." Yoimiya sighed.

You kept a close eye on Ayaka and Yoimiya during class so they wouldn't tease you anymore. Even though you liked the possibility of Ayato liking you, you didn't want that thought stuck in your head. Especially if he never likes you.

Your stomach started hurting midway through class, but you ignored it, assuming it was early period cramps.

"you alright, Y/n?" Ayaka asked as we were walking to our last class of the day.

It was the only class you had without Yoimiya.

"I just have a small stomachache, it'll go away in a little bit." you nodded as you ensured her.

The last class was pure agony. Your stomachache had only gotten worse, but you tried your hardest to act normal so Ayaka didn't have to worry about you.

You wondered if this stomachache was caused by the cookies Ayato made earlier... they did have a strange sour taste that you ignored.

When class finally ended you stood up feeling extremely dizzy.

You would've fallen over if Ayaka hadn't caught you.

"Y/n you're definitely not fine," Ayaka said with visible worry in her voice. She placed her hand on your forehead, "oh my gosh you're burning up!"

She panicked as she slowly walked with you outside. We waited for a taxi to stop by the school. You quietly murmured your apartment location and the taxi driver took us there.

You stepped out of the taxi by yourself once you arrived at your apartment. You felt of wave of nausea hit you, followed by a painful pounding in your head.

"Thanks for dropping me off," you muttered weakly.

"Are you sure you'll be fine on your own?" Ayaka asked.

You nodded.

"Alright... I'll call you in the morning to check in." She told you, then waved goodbye to you through the taxi window.

Just like that, the taxi with Ayaka in it was gone... you were all alone.

You rushed inside your apartment and ran straight to the bathroom where you spent a good minute puking up everything you had eaten today.

You had no energy to do anything for yourself, so you just limped to your poster-filled bedroom and laid down on your bed.

Staring at the ceiling for what seemed like hours, you suddenly heard a knock on the door. You didn't want to get up and answer, but you did anyway.

You had no idea who to expect at the door, but most likely a package of something you ordered long ago that you had forgotten about.

You pulled open the door to find Ayato standing there in pure concern.
