You were surprised to see that Ayato had an embarrassed expression on his face.

"Do you know him?" You asked.

He shook his head, "I do not."

"HEY, THAT'S INSULTING!" The man shouted as he stood up to look up at Thoma.

The blonde-haired boy nervously looked back and forth not sure what he should do.

"Thoma, my guy, my bro, my dude. You remember me, right?"

"Uh," He looked at Ayato who just sighed, "Yes..."

"Who is he?" You asked.

"An old acquaintance," Ayato informed.

"ACQUAINTANCE?! My bro, I thought we were friends. You betrayed me." His tone saddened, then he walked towards you and got uncomfortably close to your face before stepping back to announce, "I'm the One and Oni Arataki Itto!"

"Oni? Those don't actually exist." You pointed out after causally reaching up on your tip toes to reach his horns.

He yelped, "DON'T TOUCH MY HORNS!! They're extremely sensitive."

"So, they are real?" Your head tilted.

"Of course, they are, because I'm the One and Oni, Arat--"

"Yeah, yeah, I get it." You sighed.

You were extremely confused with this Itto guy, and you hated to admit it, but he seemed like a self-absorbed idiot. You quickly understood why Ayato and Thoma didn't like the encounter they had with the strange man.

"Can I stay at your place for the next few days?" Itto asked out of the blue.

"Absolutely not!" Ayato said while raising his voice ever so slightly.

"I see no harm in letting him stay," Ayaka admitted.

She's way too nice.

"Why do you need to stay here, anyway?" You asked.

"Well, it's kind of a long story." Itto preceded to speak, "I lived in an apartment— just like this, but cheaper. One day this guy bought the building and doubled our rent, so I didn't have enough money to stay there. So I left with only a small bag containing my belongings and found this field with a big red building. Lots of fuzzy creatures roamed in there, so I stayed in that building until this random man showed up one morning and yelled at me to get out. So, here I am now."

Everyone was silent.

"C'mon just a few days here? I'm sure it'll be the best time of your lives with me here." He said with a smug look.

Ayato looked at him in utter disgust.

"A few days wouldn't hurt, right?" Ayaka turned to Thoma and her brother giving them the puppy-eyes.

Thoma was unable to resist the eyes and finally gave in, "fine, but 3 days then he's out of the apartment."

Itto ran up to Thoma and began to repeatedly shake his hands, "thank you so much, my dude." Tears started forming in the large oni's eyes.

He sighed, "why don't we go inside and I'll make some tea while you guys catch up on everything."

Thoma held the door open as we all entered the apartment.

Itto gasped and ran around the entire place, touching a lot of stuff.

"I'd prefer you keep your hands to yourself," Ayato stated.

The giant oni froze, "well, I was just looking. I need to explore every inch of this place if I'm going to be living here."

"You're not living here, you are just staying-"

You could tell Ayato's voice started to raise, so you stepped in front of him. He immediately froze.

Ayaka stepped in as well, "brother, I think-" before she could finish Ayato left the room.

"Sheesh, what's his problem? Is the fame getting to him? I'd happily take his place, I'm sure the ladies would love me!" Itto said with a grin.

"He probably didn't sleep well last night," Ayaka guessed.

You just stood unsure what to do. You wanted to go chase after Ayato, but you were afraid he'd snap at you.

"Eh? I thought he could handle sleepless nights just fine." Itto said, then gasped, "is he still upset about that one time? When he was out with-"

Ayaka stopped him by saying, "oh, I think the tea is done."

You finally gained the confidence to speak.

"Um, I'm going to go home...if you don't mind..." you muttered. "I don't think it's the best time for me to be over right now."

"I thought you were going to stay for dinner, Y/n," Thoma said while entering the room with a plate full of hot tea.

You shook your head, "no, I have some tomatoes in my fridge that are about to spoil that I need to use."

A moment of silence swept by, you were hoping they'd believe your cheesy lie and let you go home. It's been too chaotic since Itto has shown up, you've just met him, but you could tell that everyone has mixed feelings about him. It would be a lot better if you went home for the rest of the day and let them sort their own problems out without having to worry about you.

"Oh, in that case," Ayaka wrapped you in a tight hug, "I'll see you tomorrow, sorry for all the trouble."

Thoma purchased a taxi ride for you home since the walk back to your apartment would take at least an hour.

When you arrived at your apartment you wished you had stayed at the Kamisato's place longer, but it was for the best that you had left.

You walked over to your fridge to see what your options for dinner would be like, and to your surprise, the only thing in the fridge was a moldy tomato. You sighed and tosses it into the trash.

You haven't bought groceries in a while since you've been eating all your meals at the Kamisato's apartment.

You decided to spend the rest of your afternoon shopping. You had a small budget to shop with, but you made it work. You just needed enough food to last you for a few days until your next paycheck arrives.

Luckily, the grocery store was just down the block from your apartment so you could walk there and not have to worry about spending extra money for a ride there.

You had just arrived back from your small grocery haul.

You opened your apartment door with arms full of grocery bags.

The first thing you noticed when you entered the room...

Ayato was sitting on the couch.
