The whole morning she shopped for the party, getting new dresses with her husband's card. She felt actually really happy that finally she's doing something on her own and by her own choice and there's no one questioning her preferences. She felt very glad and took a note in her mind it thank her husband for that.
The dresses, sandals and jwellery she picked were not expensive or branded, she just wanted a nice dress and didn't care about the brand, she went by with things which were less expensive but looked ravishing.
She stopped at a restaurant to have lunch just then Sarika called her, "Hello beta, would you mind taking lunch from a restaurant to Daksh at his office? Usually it's me or Abhijeet but we're both stuck up in work right now?"
"Of course maa, don't worry," she smiled, "what food does he like, by the way?" she asked nervously.
"Ah, a good start dear," Sarika appreciated her.
"Yeah, we decided we'd start off a friends," Sanaya whispered across the phone.
"It would be okay beta, I'm always here for you" Sarika consoled her and thanked her for the favour, "He love makhni daal and butter naan (a very tasty Indian dish) very much, I'd advise you to go for that," she said.
"Okay maa, be safe at work," Sanaya said and cut the call.
Little did she knew, Sarika felt glad for a daughter-in-law like Sanaya. She wasn't just a lovely person, but she actually cared for their family members even if she arrived a day before. She understood that marriage isn't a joke. A divorce isn't a joke, and was determined to work off this forced relation upon her. Sarika felt bad for what she did to her, but she knew it was only for the children's good future.
Sanaya had the lunch packed for Daksh and decided she'd eat with him in his office, while they'd catch up on the years. She asked Mr. Charanjeet, the driver, to take her to the Malhotra Corporations building and she was shocked to see the most beautiful building she had ever seen.
"Wow" she mouthed looking out of the window as the car entered the building.
"Sir wanted to keep it simple but Mr. Abhijeet wanted a designer outdoor," the driver informed, she smiled.
"For how many years have you been working for Malhotras?" she asked surprised.
"Nearly 16 years, madam," the driver said proudly, "I was the first driver Abhijeet sahab (sir) appointed. He upgraded me to his family's personal driver because of my recird of not getting even a scratch on any car"
"Really? That's awesome!" she exclaimed as he parked the car. She took out some cash out of her purse which she had withdrawn earlier in the mall, and gave it to the driver.
"I know your family's nearby, take them to lunch in a fancy restaurant, I'll be back in 2 hours or so," she gave him the cash and headed out before he could protest.
