Both of our breaths got stuck in our throats. The person responsible for our future might be near us without even our knowing.

I could feel my chest tightening and my heart racing as my body started to tremble. Unknowingly I grabbed my husband's hand as he supported my back and stabilized my condition by muttering "It's okay" and "She's gone."

His hand was on my bare waist, and he hugged me from behind tightly to keep my mind grounded and my body sane.

He helped me walk to our car and calmed me down. Though he might be hurting too, he still helped me get hold of myself.

"Are you okay?" he mutters caressing my hair as I nodded, "Thank you." I whispered back taking deep breaths.

"It's okay, I'm here," he smiled sweetly, perhaps the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. "Can I get a hug?"

He pouted pulling me into his soft big chest while he rubbed my back. "Shall I get you an ice cream?" he said and I smiled suddenly, nodding in his chest.

"Then you have to wait inside the car," he broke the hug and looked into my eyes lovingly, "Will you wait for me inside the car?" I nodded as he settled me down and got lost into my own thoughts.

Why is she still in the city? I thought she'd run far away...

...What if she comes back and asks for what you have? This family and... him?

What if he leaves me and goes back to her?

... No he won't, he doesn't love her.

He might have lied for your sake. There's no guarantee.

I shook my head to get my dull-witted brain straight. I saw Daksh smiling from afar as he crossed the road in hurry to get back. Ask him...

"Ask him what? That he'll leave me?" I exclaimed loudly in the car to release some of my body tension.

Daksh sat in his seat happily handing over my ice cream, "Here's your cornetto," he smiled. "How did you know it's my favorite?" I asked getting a little excited.

He laughed, "You murmured in your sleep." How shameless, "What?!" my mouth fell open as I stared at him in shock. "I'm officially a food loading truck," I cried in embarrassment as he laughed.

Although we were both disturbed, we ate our ice creams in silence, and as expected mine finished earlier than his.

"May I ask you for something?"

*Daksh's pov*

"May I ask you something?" My wife asked in a little breathy voice. I nodded finishing my ice cream, "Mhmm?"

"Let's go home, I'll tell you then," she said looking forward, I noticed she was clutching her saree lightly, perhaps feeling uncomfortable seeing her sister.

I wanted to calm her, hug her and tell her to not get insecure because I know now what I want, and it is her. It will always be her. I put my hand on hers and squeezed a little, "Okay."

We reached home and I helped her walk inside the house. The maid, Kavita di, informed us that Avantika is at her friend's house for a sleepover, so we'd be alone at home. I thanked her and asked her to leave for the day. Sanaya smiled, perhaps feeling good back at home.

"Shall I bring you water?" I asked her, "No, no. I'm fine, I wanted to talk," she held me by my hand. I nodded, "Tell me, are you okay?"

She nodded smiling, her cute chubby cheeks moved upwards, "Remember when we agreed to give us a chance?," she went over to the stairs going to our room as I nodded and followed her.
