"Are all of them displayed? Can we start? People are getting uneasy." The familiar voice of an enforcer pitched in from behind the young girl which was perfecting the paintings underneath one big piece of fabric covering them all.
"Yeah, it's all perfect." She smiled, making a sudden appearance in front of the bunch of people making a circle all around her and the exposition.
"Be careful with what you're going to say, young (L/N)." Grayson subtly whispered before retreating to the side, leaving the spotlight to the teen. She visibly gulped at the words, thinking of the script she stayed all night writing along with Vi and the others.
Scanning the area, she saw a few familiar faces, those of her friends watching her every move. It was quite obvious that they felt the anxiety as well. A mic was passed to her, and with a resounding sigh, she smiled at the audience.
"My name is (L/N) (Y/N). Good day, and welcome to 'Voices of the unheard', everyone. As my second exposition now, I have decided to take another path and have studied the Undercity for a month to bring these paintings to your eyes." She brought a paper out to read from, yet suddenly unsure she looked at the faces she recognized from earlier. One particular face grimaced as if telling her not to, and with an undefeated look on her face, (Y/N) looked over the paper once more, crumbled it, and placed it inside of her pocket to the surprise of her other friends.
"I truly hope that my interpretation of it will help you see the beauty in a place not everyone would see as perfect. Without any more chatter, I present you the Undercity." Her hands turned to the paintings as the curtain slowly revealed them, one by one.
A certain pair of grey, ashy eyes widened as the curtain retreated, showing some of the portraits (Y/N) made of her as centerpieces, making heads turn at her. The two girls made eye contact for a split second, and suddenly Violet got uneasy, shifting her place in the crowd to somewhere the (h/c)-haired girl couldn't see her.
"These are the people of the Undercity, and this is how their lives look daily. Through this exposition, I wanted to bring to your attention the heavy contrast between Piltover and the Undercity, both in lifestyle and colors, which has greatly interested me these past weeks I have been there. Moreover, I would like to-" Her voice resounded through the area, heart beating out of her chest until her mic suddenly got cut out, her voice no longer heard. She then soon realized what it was all about, Vi no longer being in her view. The mic soon got fixed, allowing the girl to continue, but that wasn't the plan anymore.
"I will now invite you to view them. Most of them are for sale, and an auction will soon be held. Thank you for your time." She ended her speech with a smile. After examining the audience for one last time, no familiar faces were there anymore, and with a heavy sigh, she retreated from the exposition.
. . .
"Violet, are you out of your mind?! The area was full of enforcers, and it was so embarrassing too! If they find out that it's you that tuned the mic off I'm gonna get in so much trouble, and you know that too damn well!" Shouting emerged from the basement-like room the girl used to live in.
"(Y/N), calm down! She only did that to protect you!" Claggor pitched in, blocking the sight of the pink-haired girl who was getting yelled at. She held her head low though, instead of lashing out as she always would. Powder quickly went over to hug Vi, but the girl quickly averted, taking a little pouch from her bedside table, then dragging the (h/c)-haired girl outside.
They soon got to a high area with a great view of the entire city, where you just couldn't help but look down, and admire everything.
"I had to do that, so stop shouting. You were getting too close to the script even though I know you understood that you shouldn't read it. I couldn't let you do that." She ignored the persistent gaze on her, but she was forced to look at a pair of (e/c) eyes when the girl shook her by the shoulders.
"Vi, you can't put yourself in danger like that, it was just reckless! I wrote that script to read it, to open their damn eyes! I wrote it for a change! Now there's no way I can ever do that again, it was our one and only chance!" She crouched, hands on her head, a truly defeating sight.
"Why should you put yourself in danger then?! I told you, you'll get detained for a very sweet time! There was no way in hell I would let you do that for the 'sake of the Undercity'. The only change there would have been is that the (L/N) family would've remained without their daughter!" Her tone changed to a much more intimidating one, startling the girl.
"Why would you care about that bullshit over giving the Undercity a voice?! My family has enough influence to change something alone!" Her figure finally got up from the ground to face the girl which had an unexpectedly pained expression on her soft face, catching her off guard.
"Because I care about you, (Y/N)! All I wanted to do was protect you, why don't you get that I truly care about you?!" Vi blurted out, tears almost escaping because of the emotional overload she was getting at that moment.
"Do you?" A voice echoed through the area as she once again sat down, this time laying flat on the cold stone, a little smirk slowly appearing on her clouded face.
Without noticing her change of mood, Vi leaned over near her body and lightly placed a pendant with a violet crystal hanging from it on her chest, sitting down as well soon after with a silent hum as an answer to her oblivious question.
"I see..."
