"Spill it, Ekko."

"Well, uh... Vander's got some sort of deal with the enforcers." The light-haired boy finally spoke up after averting the girl's gaze for some good seconds. It was safe to say that the boy's answer wasn't quite what she expected to hear.

"What deal?" She mumbled, still in disbelief. She quickly dragged him by the hand into the basement-like room and sat him on the old, patched-up couch. Dim lighting shone on the kids gathered up all around the coffee table. Curious eyes stared at him as the boy scratched the back of his head and slowly started to talk, piecing it together in his mind little by little.

"I heard Vander talk with an enforcer lady about a deal and a plan the other day. They didn't talk much about the deal, but the plan is pretty out there. It involves (Y/N) and you, Vi." Ekko glanced at the said girl, her expression changing in an instant at the words. Without saying anything she nodded as if telling him to elaborate and slicked her hair back as she usually would. Her eyes were planted on the floor, not knowing what to expect next.

"I didn't get most of it but they said something about your actions mattering, that (Y/N) needs to have clean hands for the plan to work, some alliance between them, and something else about (L/N) family's daughter as an enforcer or counselor. That's all I can tell you, I couldn't hear too well." He ended his speech with a shrug, and the pink-haired girl forcefully buried her face in her palms, still processing everything.

"Well, Vi, your genuine friend isn't all that genuine after all, huh?" Mylo scoffed to which she sighed, not wanting to lash out at him there and then.

"Maybe there's a misunderstanding?" Claggor pitched in, but a knock at their door startled them to the core. No one answered the door, so the person invited herself in. It was (Y/N).

"What's up with the mood in here, guys? The auction was a success and I received most of the money today, so I thought we can celebrate! I got some food and some presents for you all. Look, Pow-Pow, isn't this cute? The moment I saw this dress I thought about you so I just had to get it." The (h/c)-haired girl brought a magenta-colored dress out of the heavy bag she was carrying, making the younger one smile at the sight of it. Her older sister slapped the girl's hands away though, along with the dress and bag which fell on the ground with a loud thud.

"Get out of here, now." Vi spit out, still not looking at her, and the atmosphere around was getting thicker and thicker as moments passed by.

"What's wrong with you today? At least don't make a scene around Powder and Ekko." (Y/N) furrowed her brows, still distraught over the words she was receiving.

"What's wrong with me? Yeah, what's wrong with me for thinking you were so nice to us without any reason. Go back to the enforcers and tell them your plan isn't gonna work anymore, cause I don't wanna get involved with any of you." The girl finally got up from the couch, making eye contact with her now-former friend in her eyes. What she was looking at wasn't quite what she'd expected though, the girl's (e/c) eyes full of anxiety.

"Everyone, out." Violet ordered just about when she felt that the girl in front of her was going to collapse on the ground crying. The kids quickly left the room, leaving only the two of them remaining there.

"Care to explain what that plan is all about, cupcake?" Vi spoke, this time with a bit of a softer tone in her voice as she sat the girl down on the couch beside her.

"I don't know what you heard or where you heard it from, but I don't want harm on any of you, I promise! At the age of 15, my family sends its children to the Undercity for a month since we gained a name in Piltover so we could see our roots. This time though they thought that as both you and I are close in age we would be friends naturally, and as you would be the one ruling after Vander, they wanted you to have ties with someone with a name in Piltover." She wiped a tear off her face and laid back on the couch, awaiting any answers or questions from the pink-haired girl, but as the silence continued she just kept talking, her throat slightly sore.

"Vander and Grayson have an alliance. People from the Undercity don't go through Piltover, and they send fewer enforcers down here when they have to. They wanted the alliance to be strong even after they pass, so they came up with this plan. In later years I would either become an enforcer and things would have remained as they are now, or I would go up to the Council and demand the position to speak for the Undercity back to our family. I had the plan to you know, actually listen to what the Undercity wants, and try to give it its independence as it's always stepped on by Piltover. I guess not anymore..." She got up from the couch, yet a stronger hand held onto her and pushed her figure back down on the couch, holding her down.

"Stay here for a while more and then you can go. Go and don't come back anymore, cupcake. It's gonna be for the best." Vi mumbled under her shaky breath. Even though the plan didn't sound bad at all, it felt like it would be too much of a burden to her. It was for the best that she didn't get involved with the Undercity anymore and forgot about everyone here overall.

"What do you mean? I can't just leave and forget everything. I don't want that. You guys are like family to me at this point, I don't wanna lose you, Violet!" She jumped on her for an embrace, an embrace the other girl painfully accepted. The dim light shining over them just made everything sadder, and the embrace just became tighter.

"I told you, we'll always have each other's backs. It's just better to get away from here for a while. The enforcers keep looking for us, it's dangerous. Forget about everything here, live your life like you did until now. Complete the studies you've been ranting about to me for so much time. In the future, marry that guy you said you like, have a family. Just stay far away from here, got it, cupcake?" Vi gently stroked her back to comfort the teen, yet her words only made it worse, and the embrace broke quickly.

"Vi, are you really that blind, or is your head too thick? It's you that I like, yet you're so caught up with things that you can't even see what's really going on! I too want to protect Powder with you, I too want to seek justice for everything, I too want to be with my loved ones, so why won't you let me be with you?!" The (h/c)-haired girl burst out in disbelief, her true feelings finally coming out. At that moment though, it didn't feel embarrassing to confess like that, it felt eye-opening for the both of them. Violet's eyes widened at the sound of her words, but it all turned into a nice smirk, knowing that it wasn't only her that felt weird about the other.

"Mind if I steal a kiss then? A little souvenir from Piltover."
