Hi Mum,

It was Gigli's birthday last weekend and I have now seen where she lives. She has a swing set in her bedroom! Actually, my apartment could fit entirely within her dining/lounge/kitchen area.

It went well, even with Lola. Of course, Elena was there too, and me and two younger girls from the year below. We were able to stay overnight, which was super cool because I really missed sleepovers since I left Gravatai. We ate chocolate cake soon after arriving, watched a film, and played with Nacho the guinea pig until more snacks were served. We then spent the rest of the afternoon bowling in her basement, with sets carved from cedarwood. Sunday, the younger kids left early and the rest of us visited a nearby park for a walk with Gigli's dad, Juan. He's an architect and he's really gentle and never shouts, unlike dad. We played football outside until we got picked up by our parents before lunch.

The only thing I didn't like was shower time. I mean, I don't mind showering, I love it. It's just that Gigli's mum made us strip and leave our clothes outside the bathroom, all neatly folded. It felt like we were prisoners about to take a group shower...and that's what it was! Elena, Lola, Gigli and I, all had to step into the wet room, huddled together like lambs and feeling trapped. I absolutely hated it. Gigli's mum was watching us wash like a cold, orphanage lady from Oliver Twist, right until the last drop of water came down on us. After that, we were all allowed to leave.

Does she think we wouldn't wash for real unless she supervised?

These days I don't see Gigli as this super-spoiled brat anymore, but more like a kid forced into the role of a doll. Nothing of hers is private or intimate. I feel sorry for her, really.

Will you watch over her from heaven when you've got a minute? Just so I know she's safe. Thanks mum, I love you to the moon and back.

Zelia
