Soo-hyun looked a lot less scary when he was asleep. Jun knew it was probably creepy to watch someone sleep but he couldn't help it. It felt weird, seeing the older one look so peaceful and untroubled. Jun decided then that he likes seeing him this way. Kind of cute if he was being honest.
Jun refocused on the task of making breakfast. He had even went shopping the previous day. Soo-hyun would probably complain about this too, though. Something like 'I told you that I'll take care of myself'. Jun barely resisted rolling his eyes at that thought.
About five minutes later Jun saw Soo-hyun get off the couch and head his way.
"What are you doing this early?" He said, resembling a walking corpse. A fact that Jun found extremely hilarious.
"Thought I could make some breakfast. Think of it as a welcome," Jun said with a smile.
"I know how to take care of myself, thank you very much,"Soo-hyun muttered with a sour expression.
Dammit, Jun had almost got it right! Oh well, there's always a next try.
"I know but there would be zero point in making food only for myself now that you're living here too," Jun considered this a very valid argument.
"Fine whatever, I have early class though so you better hurry."
What an asshole. Nonetheless Jun plated the food and gave Soo-hyun half of the scrambled eggs that he had managed to make.
The eggs tasted awfully burnt.
.
Jun wondered if there was a way to just skip his next class and get away with it. That class just happened to have an all-too-familiar teacher. He's been dreading this for days.
Taking one last breath, Jun speed walked past the classroom entrance and hurried up the stairs leading to the back of the room. He sat down at the furthest corner from the teachers desk, Jun-wan's desk.
The said man was typing on his computer, not bothering to lift his gaze to Jun.Slowly the room started to fill up and Jun had some luck left, since the chairs next to him stayed empty. His previous friends seem to have had totally given up on his money and are now sitting at the other side of the classroom. Jun was just glad that they had decided to leave him alone.
Being taught by your own brother was just as awkward as you would imagine. Jun found it hard to see Jun-wan as a teacher, he wasn't acting like he would with Jun. It was so weird to see all the fake excitement and smiles. And then his gaze met Jun's eyes. His face stayed neutral but Jun could tell that Jun-wan was considering something from the way his eyes hardened.
"Alright that's it for today! Jun, will you please stay here for a while, I have something to discuss you about."
Well shit. The avoiding didn't work for very long then.
Jun could hear Jeong-ho and Chun-gook laugh at him, "Already in trouble with Mr.Yeo". Oh if only they knew.
Slowly Jun packed up and started walking down the stairs. With each step his throat felt just a little tighter. What could Jun-wan even want, Jun had done nothing wrong, had he?
The older stood up from his desk and closed the distance between the two."I have to talk to you about our parents' situation."
"What about them?" Jun replied as steady as possible. This couldn't go well.
"I'll just go straight to the point so please listen before saing anything, alright?" Jun-wan looked serious so Jun just nodded and tightened his hold on the starps of his bag.
"I'm fairly certain that father has been hitting mother recently. My suspicions were pretty much confirmed on my last visit when I saw mother covering some bruises on her face. And with the evidence that we have, I'm going to sue dad and take this to court. For all to go well, I need you to testify against him, can you do that?" Jun-wan looked at Jun as professionally as ever. Even though Jun could see that he wasn't as well composed as pretended to be.
It kind of felt like a slap to the face but ten times worse. Jun knew that it was likely but hearing it being confirmed wasn't a nice feeling. He wasn't really able to think straight right away and understanding everything Jun-wan just said was too difficult. He did know that his father should be held responsible, though.
"Umm yeah...I mean yeah yes I can do that, I think? When are you doing it? And um I thought you were on good terms with father so why do this now?" Jun still felt weird, everything was going too fast.
"I'll start with the process right away, I'm going to inform you when the hearings are," Then Jun-wan's face turned almost sad looking.
"Did you really think I was just going to let father do all that to his own family without consequenses? He's been doing this to us for way too long and now I have the money to do what has to be done.""Wait what do you mean 'us'? He hit you!?" Jun's eyes widened and it was like everything was coming down all at once. It made sense now.
"That's not important right now. Well that was all, you can go now," Jun-wan avoided eye contact and turned to start arranging some papers on his desk.
Jun took a few hesitant steps towards his brother before deciding against it and walking out. On his way he heard a quiet 'thank you Jun'.Jun wandered back to his appartment. He felt detatched from his body and like he couldn't really feel anything around him. The way to his house was so familiar that he didn't really have to think and hence Jun suddenly found himself on his front door. Like on autopilot, he twisted the knob and stepped inside.
Once he was safely inside, all the information started to settle into Jun's brain and the complete exhaustation hit him. His tired body hit the couch and he just stared at the white ceiling above. There wasn't a single day that went by without any worries apparently.
The door opened once again and Soo-hyun stepoed in and threw his bag on one of the living room chairs.
"Hi Jun", he said with a sigh and closed his eyes.
Jun couldn't bring himself to reply. It was too much effort just keeping his eyes open.
Soo-hyun lifted his head back up, confused."Woah what's wrong? Jun?" He walked over and sat next to the younger. "You're crying again, what happened?"
Jun hadn't realised the crying, he must have looked ridiculous. Not that it mattered very much at that moment.
He still didn't have the energy to reply so instead he just turned to face Soo-hyun and looked at him. He actually seemed really concerned, reaching for Jun's shoulder."Jun I need you to talk to me, please? You're scaring me right now."
Well fuck it, Soo-hyun wanted to know so what had Jun got to lose. So slowly he opened his mouth and thought of what to say.
"My brother has decided to sue my father for abuse against his own family and I have to testify against him," There, it was out.
Jun looked at his hands, scared of seeing Soo-hyun's reaction. Then he felt gentle hands at his arms, pulling him forward.
And the next thing Jun knew was that he was being hugged by the so called 'emotionless' Nam Soo-hyun. Now this just made him cry more and if he weren't so sad, this would have been perfect blackmail material.Soo-hyun didn't let go for what felt like eternity. He rubbed Jun's back slowly while the blond had burrowed his head into the grook of Soo-hyun's neck. Not that either of the boys would ever admit it, but the position was actually really comfortable.
"I'm so sorry Jun. Firstly about your father and then the things I said about you, I had no right to comment on your money or family," Soo-hyun whispered against Jun's hair.
Jun just hummed and closed his eyes, forgetting his problems for at leat a little while. He could get used to this.
