Chun-gook threw the first punch. Jun staggered backwards holding his throbbing stomach. Jun's eyes were screwed shut while he tried his best to control his unsteady breathing.
"What a jerk you've become, you brought this upon yourself!" Chun-gook said with a furious face. "What the hell is wrong with you Jun!? It's like you just completely forgot that we exist!"
Jun wished Chun-gook knew how hypocritical he was being. It's his money they missed having around, not Jun. He didn't have time to defend himself before Chun-gook was rushing towards him again with a raised fist.
Jun decided that it would be over the quickest if he just held on for a bit instead of fighting back. Jun put his hands up and closed his eyes as tight as he could, waiting for the hit.
The force of his friends fist made him fall back against the closest table in the still empty classroom.Chun-gook was screaming something that Jun couldn't make sense of while clutching his side, already preparing for the third hit when the classroom door opened.
Jun-wan walked in and stopped suddenly when he saw the boys. The man looked at the two younger ones with a stern gaze.
"Do I need to send you two to the office?" Jun-wan asked calmly and continued his walk to the desk at the front of the classroom.
"No sir, we were just about to leave," Chun-gook hurried to grab his bag and half ran out of the room. Leaving Jun alone with his older brother.
"Keep yourself out of trouble, you have a reputation to hold."
Jun felt like the air wasn't quite enough. He nodded to his brother before scrambling to pick up his books and then with shaky legs he hurried to the hallway.
It was packed with students and Jun could barely breathe. It was all too much, his upper body was aching, Jun-wan hadn't even tried to do anything, there were too many people and nowhere for Jun to go.
He hugged the few books tight to his chest and forced his way through the tight mass of classmates he recognized from different classes. Jun knew a place where there would certainly not be anyone. He wasn't so sure about wether or not the current owner of that place would want him there but that wasn't something to worry about now.
Jun felt like his legs could give out any moment now and the tears were surely already falling. He ran the rest of the way through the emptying cafeteria and came to a stop at a door. Soo-hyun's door. Could it even be concidered as Soo-hyun's?
Jun didn't think the door even had a lock, so it should be open. Well he couldn't just stay there in front of everyone. Jun twisted the door handle and almost sobbed out of relief when the door opened.
He rushed to close the door and finally let his legs give out, sitting on the wooden floor. There wasn't much inside. Which totally makes sence since the door wasn't even locked. Soo-hyun had a mattress in the middle, a small wooden desk against the back wall and a few bags that seemed to contain clothes.
Jun's arms loosened on the books and they fell to the floor with a thud. His whole body shook with quiet sobs as he curled around himself and tried to breath between the gasps. Jun could feel a bruise forming on his side where the desk had hit him. Did he deserve that? He had ignored his friends so maybe that's exactly what he should get.
It was starting to hurt sitting on the hard floor, so carefully Jun shifted over to the mattress. It was surprisingly soft and he immediately fell to his side and still couldn't help the shaking. His father would've been dissapointed, Jun could almost hear his judging voice inside his head.
Boys aren't supposed to cry Jun. That shows weakness.
Out of nowhere the door opened. Jun snapped his head towards the door and sat up in a flash. Soo-hyun walked in and visibly startled upon seeing the younger boy on his so called bed.
"What the hell Jun!? ...is everything alright?" Soo-hyun's face went from annoyed to something resembling concern.
"Yeah of course everything's fine! I'm sorry, I saw you come here once and thought that I could come here for a while...my bad," Jun looked at the brunette's feet as if they were the most interesting thing in the whole world.
"You're literally shaking, what the fuck happened Jun?" Soo-hyun slowly lowered himself on the floor.
Jun thought of a polite way to get the fuck out of here as soon as possible. Turns out there were none now that Soo-hyun was sitting between him and the door."No seriously I'm all good, just really cold here right?"
"You sound like even you don't believe that."
Jun sighed and turned his gaze on the floor, there was a little ant crawling around. How interesting.
"Stop ignoring me Jun. You're literally in my room, sitting on my bed and looking like you just cried for three days straight."
He's not too much off, Jun thought and almost smiled. He concidered his options for a minute before deciding that the truth is probably the easiest to explain.
So that's exactly what Jun did, and while ecplaining he truly does everything to avoid catching Soo-hyun's eyes."Jun, those people aren't your friends, you know that right? I'm sorry he did that and also I didn't know Mr.Yeo is your brother?" Soo-hyun carefully chose his words.
"Yeah he doesn't want people to know, it would ruin our family's reputation."
"What? But your grades are fine, you're rich and all the girls are drooling after you. How does that ruin your reputation?" Soo-hyun looked genuinely confused, could he seriously not tell?
"No I mean like look at me. I have dyed hair, my grades aren't even close to being good enough and I just got myself in a fight," Jun said embarrassed.
"And none of that was your fault. Now listen, you're not my favorite person and I'll only say this once", Soo-hyun took a break to think before continuing. "I don't care what you think you did, you didn't deserve that and your family doesn't define what you shoul be, got that?"
Jun wondered if it would be considered embarrassing if he now started crying again. Probably yeah.
"I don't think you really get it, but thanks anyways."
"Oh and I've thought about your suggestion. I could at least try moving in with you for a while if that's still fine. It can't be much worse than this room."
Soo-hyun looked like he was trying to smile? Jun wasn't so sure but he aporeciated it. Maybe this was the appropriate time for crying, he just got a roommate. No more lonely days and an empty appartment.
