16. Creation Mission

You spent the following days after the Combination Mission in your studio, working on your various projects. There was a week before the Creation Mission mid-checkup.

You finalized "Eleven" and just sent it over to Starship Entertainment for their approval. Once they approved it, you would be able to start recording for the new girl group's debut.

Your manager had also informed you that you received requests from three other girl groups who would be making their comebacks in the first quarter of 2022. You had a busy schedule coming up, not to mention you also had your own solo debut to prepare for, but upon hearing the groups' names, you knew that you wanted to work with them no matter how busy you would be.

Luckily, YG granted you permission to follow through with those projects. You thought that with your group's contract coming to an end in 2023, they were giving you more freedom to choose your own projects to increase your chances of renewing with them.

You told your manager to accept those projects and to schedule meetings with the respective agencies right away to figure out song directions. While you were kept busy with work, you couldn't help but think of the mesmerizing performance Cai Bing put on.

You often wondered what she was doing and which of four songs she would be performing. Your gut told you that she would be performing "Snake" as it was the song that suited her the best out of the four concepts.

Before the third elimination and mid-checkup, you had visited the girls a few times along with the other Masters. You went to help them on all the free days you had, which unfortunately were not very many.

You spent one of the days with Vocal Master Ayoung and helped them with vocal training as the girls that made it past the third elimination would be recording the song with you.

"Wait. Jiwon and Doah got the killing part. Didn't they take the killing part last time too?" Ayoung asked.

"Let's see what you got, hwaiting!" you said before the "U+Me=Love" girls began to sing.

"Doah was flirting at me when she was singing and Jiwon was flirting with Y/N when she was singing" exclaimed Ayoung after both teams had finished.

"Jiwon, you were meant to take the killing part. You were stable and very good, you suit the song perfectly...this kind of perfect match is every song composer's dream...I want you to take the killing part in the final performance too" you revealed.

You and Ayoung spent the next few hours working on vocals with the rest of the teams.

It was the morning of the mid-checkup and you arrived eager to see their progress. You opened the double doors, surprised to see streamers hanging right in front of your face. As you guys made your way into the large room, you started to dance along playfully as the girls sang "O.O.O".

A few of the girls broke away from the group to bring each of you your own present and you felt your heart flutter as Cai Bing came forward to bring you yours. After you removed your lingering hand from hers, you thanked her. You eagerly put on the bracelets made by the girls right away.

"It gets harder and harder to let some of you go each time...unfortunately, not everyone will be able to make the debut group but that doesn't mean that you won't ever be able to debut...I only hope that none of you lose confidence or your love for music that brought you to this program in the first place...I hope we can all meet again" you said to the group. You were still not over some of the eliminations but you were just relieved that Cai Bing was still here.
