"EJ! Last letter!" My mom says as she comes running into my room holding an envelope.
"Holy shit." I stand up quickly.
"Language."
"Sorry. Let me see." I grab the letter from her.
My mom leaves the room.
"You can come back out now."
Ricky appears from the other side of the bed.
"That was close." He says as he puts his shirt on.
"Yeah."
"I'd that one of the schools you applied for?"
"Yeah, last one." I sit on the bed, he sits next to me.
I open the envelope and unfold the letter.
"I got in!"
"Really?! Oh my god babe, I'm so proud of you." He hugs me. "Which school is it?"
"Uh, Mars Hill."
"W-where is that? Like in Colorado or something?"
"North Carolina."
"I thought we were matching our back up schools, or at least being in the same state! How're we gonna be together if I'm in New York and you're in North Carolina?!"
"We can figure it out. We can visit each other on the weekends and FaceTime each other every day."
"But if it doesn't work. This is college we're talking about, it won't be easy."
"I know that, but I'm willing to try for you."
"You are?"
"Of course, we've been dating 8th grade don't you think that's a lot to throw away?"
"Yeah."
"I know it's gonna be hard, but it'll be okay. We'll be okay." I rub his cheek.
He hugs me.
"I love you."
"I love you to baby. I promise I won't let you go."

Eventually the day came where I had to leave to go to NC.
"I love you, promise me you'll call me as soon as you land." Ricky says as he hugs me tightly.
"I love you to, I promise baby." I kiss him.
"I gotta go, my plans boards in a bit." I say.
"Okay."
"I'll call you as soon as I land, I promise."
