17~ Promises

1 month later

~Julo POV

Me and Rino were walking away with all their stuff packed for my house, when they stopped abruptly.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

"Julo, I have something I want to do quickly."

"What is it?"

They quickly then held out their pinky in front of me with huge determination and concentration in their eyes.

"Now this is really serious. Let's make a promise to never leave each other, and if one of us does end up dying, the other one will move on, and live a good life without the other."

I held out my pinky and wrapped it around theirs. "I promise."

We headed to my house, now ours.

3 and a half Years later

~Rino POV

I was so nervous. It was time. I waited for him to arrive at the picnic spot. My heart was pounding out of my chest. When was he going to get here? He's taking too long. He's late. 

10 minutes late. 

20 minutes. 

25 minutes. 

30 minutes.

33 minutes. 

Where was he? I decided to get up to look for him.

I was jumping through the trees as quick as I could. What happened to him? Was he ok? He wasn't home either.

He should've been done with his mission by now.

I ran as fast as I could to the Hokage's office. I got there and busted through the door.

"Konohamaru sensei!"

"What's wrong Rino? Is everything ok?"

"Has Julo come back yet?"

"No."

I ran as fast as I could out of the office.

"Rino, wait!" I heard him yell after me. 

I didn't listen. I just kept running. I had to get there in time.

I was in the forest jumping through trees, when suddenly Orini, and Jayra appeared next to me. Orini turned to me.

"Backup's here."

~Julo POV

Shit. This mission is not going how I wanted it to. They were only supposed to be some thieves that weren't that strong. I wish I listened to Lord Konohamaru, and brought back up. Too late now. My chakra's low. I won't be able to hold on much longer. I got back up on my feet to try and fight back. 

I took two shuriken, and threw them. The guy I was aiming at dodged the first one, but I used wind style to have the second one change direction, and it hit him right in the chest. One more down, only 2 left. I got this.

My right arm started hurting. But when did he hit me with a kunai. I know. When I was moving the shuriken, I thought I saw something shiny out of the corner of my eye. He was so fast. Shit. I collapsed to the ground with the pain. Poison?! Oh no. One of the other guys jumped from a bush, and landed right in front of me.

"This is goodbye for you, leaf ninja."

I closed my eyes, waiting for the finishing blow with his sword. Right as it was about to hit me I heard a clash of metal on metal.

"Think again."

Rino?! When'd they get here. They were so fast.

"Hey Julo, you're looking a bit rough there."

"Just who the hell are you?"

"My name's Rino, you just tried to kill my boyfriend, so now you're gonna pay." With that they lifted their headband over their left eye, so it was visible.

"W-What you're from the Akura clan?"

"Ah, so you know, impressive, not many people do."

"Let's see your true strength, Akura." Just then the other thief jumped down.

"Be careful Rino!"

"Don't worry Julo, I'll show these guys."

I smiled at them as they drew their sword.

"Let's do this."

While they were fighting, Jayra started healing me. 

The fight didn't last long. Rino quickly knocked them all out, and sent them back to the village with us. We made it back safely when Rino took my hand, and dragged me away from everyone else to our picnic spot.

We sat and ate for a while. Rino eventually got up, and stood in front of me.

"Julo."

"Yeah?"

They kneeled down and fumbled for something in their pocket.

"Hold on sorry."

"God you're clumsy," I said as I started laughing at them. But I quickly stopped laughing when they finally got the object out of their pocket. A box. They opened it.

"Julo, I've loved you for a very, very long time. I want to be with you for the rest of my life, so will you marry me?"

I just sat there stunned for a minute. They started nervously laughing, and rubbing the back of their head with their other hand. 

I finally replied, "yes, of course! I love you!"
