Chapter 9: Wife of Poseidon

Ava and Bella saw Jobe on the gondola coming out of the death challenge room and headed towards him, waiting for him to come out. "Jobe!" Ava said. She wanted him to survive. She was mad at Nene anyway for killing her best friend, and now Nene would be away from her best friend forever. It was dark, but it was what she felt. Jobe got onto their side of the river and gave them both a hug. "I have a surprise for you Ava when we get to the Base." Jobe said. "How? We've been stuck in here all night?" Ava asked. "I'll show you, come on!" Jobe said. The 3 of them ran to the Base, and there was nothing there. "Really Jobe?" Ava said. "The one thing that I have to look forward to tonight and you just rip it away from me!" She said again. They heard something from the curtains. "Yes!" Jobe said. "You're so mean!" She said. "Hey guys!" Ella said. "ELLA!" Ava said. She gave Ella a big hug. "Did you do this Jobe?" Ava asked. "Yeah." He replied. She then gave him a big hug. "Thank you." Ava said. "Uh... how exactly did you bring me back?" Ella asked. "When I won the death challenge I was about to kill Hades and then he made a deal with me so that if I spared his life he would bring one of my friends who died tonight back to life, but I couldn't bring nene back so I brought you back instead!" Jobe explained in a fast tone. "Oh, well thank you." Ella said. "Wait, your still alive?" Ella said. She was talking to Bella. "Listen Ella; I'm sorry, I wouldn't have killed you if there would have been another way." Bella said. "Stop!" Im so annoyed of the arguing!" Jobe said. "We are all in this together! We only need one more power stone and then we'll be able to escape!" "I saved all of you guy's at least once tonight so, PLEASE, just listen to me. Jobe said. "Okay we're sorry." Bella said. "Can I put the power stone into the door?" Ella asked. "Yes." Jobe said. He tossed it to her and she put it into its place on the wheel on the door. "This is the last thing we need to do to escape. But we only have an hour and thirty minutes left." Jobe said. A tentacle reached inside of the Base and grabbed Ella. "AHH!" Ella screamed. "Not again!" Ava said. Ava grabbed a vase and threw it onto the floor, it shattered and she grabbed the longest, sharpest piece of the broken vase and stabbed the tentacle, and it slithered out of the Base. "Thank you Ava." Ella said while panting. There was an eye poking through the hole. "Is there anyone in there?" What seemed to be a giant eye with tentacles said. "Follow me." Thanata said. They all followed her through a back exit in the Base. It led to the Amphitrite exhibit. On the floor in the exhibit was a trident, in front of it was a golden rod, next to the golden rod was a notecard. It read, one of you must shoot the golden rod with the trident, after which you must shoot it at the next exhibit's guardian Amphitrite. After that her death challenge room will be revealed to you. Then you will vote for the last time on who you want to go into it, as usual. If you are 'special' you will automatically be put into the death challenge. There will only be one person to vote in this time around. "I can shoot the rod if you want me to." Ava insisted. "Yeah you can if you want." Jobe said. She picked up the trident and shot it at the rod. Electricity shot out of it, hitting the rod. The electricity ricocheted off of the off of the rod and it hit Ava. "Ahh!" She screamed. The electricity was coursing through her veins and she felt every single volt of electricity in her. It was the worst pain she had ever felt. She was being blasted with the energy of a God, The God of the Sea. The electricity finally stopped and Ava fell to the ground, panting. She didn't know how she was still alive. Jobe went to shove her, but she was fine. She didn't even have scars on her. She got up. "I'm okay! I'm okay!" Ava said. "Are you sure?" Jobe said. "Ye- yes!" Ava said. "Okay." He replied. Ava's eye glowed with a pink light. She sparked with electricity as they walked off. They were in another part of the exhibit. They looked out of a window inside of it and they saw the exhibit that they needed to kill next. It looked like a woman, but a woman-giant. She had squid-like tentacles and a crown, black hair and skin with scal-ey patches. "This is gonna be a hard hour." Ella said. "The card earlier said we had to shoot the trident at that thing, its name was like 'Ametite' or something?" Ava said. "Amphitrite." Jobe said. "She's Neptune's wife in Greek mythology." "Ohh..."
They went outside to shoot it. Ava stood in front of it. "Wait we forgot the trident!" Ella said. "What!" Ava said. Amphitrite was about to squish Ava with her tentacles, Ava lifted her hands up above her head and a forcefield came over her, protecting her from the deadly Goddess. "What! How are you doing this? How do you have my husband's powers!" Amphitrite exclaimed. "You don't need to know that." Ava said. She pushed her arms up and a force blew from her, knocking Amphitrite down. She shot energy at Amphitrite from her hands, stunning her. "I did it!" Ava said. "I know, how did you do that?" Ella said. "Was it because of what happened with the trident?" Jobe said. "Yeah, I think so." Ava said. There was a sound. It sounded like the ocean. They followed the sound and it led to an open door. They walked inside of it and realized what the room was. "This is the last death challenge room." Thanata said. "You may all vote now." She said again. She pulled out a deck of cards, four cards each having someone's face and name on them. Except for ava. She was the 'special one'. "Why isn't Ava's name on any of the cards?" Jobe asked. "Because she is the special one." Thanata replied. "She will automatically have to go into the death challenge." "You guys are only voting for one person." "Are you serious! Because I shot the stupid trident I have to go in!" Ava said. "Yes, you must." Ava rolled her eyes. "Vote, we do not have much time left." Thanata said. They all voted. "The second person going into the death challenge is... Bella." Bella looked at Ava. This wouldn't be hard for them. They were both going 150%. They didn't have a bond or a connection, nothing. Ava was still mad at Bella for helping Nene kill Ella. Bella and Ava went into the room farther, Jobe, Ella, and Thanata were waiting for them at the beginning of the room. There was a card on the ground. Ava picked it up to read it. "You must find the helmet of Medusa hidden somewhere in this room. Amphitrite is in here so be weary of her. If you are caught by her, you will be stunned for 10 seconds and then you can go back in. Whoever finds the helmet first will have to wear it and look at Amphitrite with it on. Amphitrite will die and the loser will die too." "Okay let's start." Bella said. They both searched for the helmet in a panic. Amphitrite was chasing after them and Ava got caught. "I found it!" Bella said. "No!" Ava said dramatically. Bella put the helmet on and looked at Amphitrite. Amphitrite turned to stone, but so did Bella. Ava grinned as the power stone fell to the floor. She picked it up and walked gracefully back to the beginning of the room. She told Bella that whoever found it first would survive. She was lying. The card said that whoever found it and used it would die. Bella found it and used it so she died. Ava never told Jobe about this though, and she never will. Not to Jobe, not to anyone else. "I have the last power stone guys!" Ava said. "Yes!" Jobe said. "We can finally get out of here!"
