Chapter 2: The Sirens Song

They were in attire from what looked like the 1990's, and stuck in a part of Ancient Greece that was stuck in time. There were exhibits everywhere and they were in a middle area called the base. There were antique couches that were very comfortable and a table in the middle with a map on it and a flower vase. In front of the living area was a door with what looked like a pirate ship steering wheel but it was fully solid in the middle made with iron and had 9 holes on it where it looked like jewels needed to be placed in. There were stairs all around the living area that led up to a stage, a gumball machine, paintings of Greek Gods, board games, and arcade games. Red and black powder rose up from the ground, and formed Jobe's cousins and friends.they were all summoned here. Their names were Mia, Leila, Max, Bella, and Hailey. "Where are we? I was just on TikTok on my bed, laying down and I went down this red and black thing." Mia said. "Why are all of y'all here?" Bella said. "I don't even know?" Jobe said. Ava looked at the clock and it was 6:00pm. Everyone went out looking everywhere and they found a restaurant called Greek Gobblers. They all got some drinks and had fun for a little bit, they didn't know what was happening for a little bit, but they thought it was fun so they went along with it. Everything was fun and they were all doing karaoke, having a good time, until a timer appeared on top of the fountain in the walkway between all of the exhibits. It was a holographic timer with a clock that was ticking down from 1 hour. "What do you think the timer is for?" Bella said. "Let's get back to karaoke!" Jobe said. Bella had stayed back watching the clock tick down, when it had finally hit 0 and she called everyone outside. A hologram of HIM appeared and he gave instructions. "There are exactly 10 people here, you all know each other. I need you all, I need you all so that I can become an all-powerful being. The only way I can do this is if I kill you guys and most importantly, Jobe. I will absorb your essence and the final ritual will be complete making me... a universal being. The whole world will bow down to me and I will be unstoppable. You will look around for clues that will show up as cards. You will need to find jewels called power stones. You need to collect 9 of them. If you don't get all of them by 6am you will all become new collections in my museum and be tormented here forever. To get a power stone, you will need to find death challenge rooms and find the keys that go with them to unlock them. When you go into a death challenge room it will take you to a place with a monster inside of it. You will need to vote 2 people here into a challenge to the death, the loser will die to the monster in the death challenge room and after they die the winner can get the power stone and you can be 1 step closer to escaping. Work fast if you want to have a chance, the clock is ticking." "What!" Mia said. "Why are we all here, anyways! I didn't ask to be here!" Max said. "Isn't there another way? Without us dying!" Leila said. "Guys, let's just be calm..." Bella said. "I'm too young to die!" Hailey said. "We need to start looking around for things." Jobe said. "Yeah, I am not dying tonight!" Evan said. Bella walked up to a painting and noticed a patch of the painting that looked weird. She picked at it until she could tear the weird patch off, which she did. Attached to the back of it was a number code. "Guys! I found something!" She said, "It's a code!" Nene and Jobe were looking for the death challenge door, and they had finally found it behind one of the arcade machines at The Base. Max and Hailey were in the Theia exhibit when another hologram appeared in the center of the museum, HE said that every death challenge room key was hidden inside a totem of Portunus, God of keys. They noticed on one of the statues in the Theia Exhibit was an arrow pointing towards the left. "We should try to move this, but we both have to because it's really heavy." Max said. "Okay" Hailey said. They pushed the statue to the left and under it was a safe. It of course had a lock on it but now they were one step closer to finding the first death challenge room key. Mia and Leila were in the library. They saw on the side of one of the books; Pull me. Leila pulled the book and the shelf started to move back revealing 5 buttons. Each button had a number on it. The first one was 5, the second one was 18, the 3rd one was 7, the 4th one was 10, and the last one was 6. They knew that they would probably have to find a code somewhere in the library. This was like an escape room, but instead of being let out if you don't escape and going on with your day, you would die if you didn't escape by the given time. They eventually found the code and pressed all the buttons in order, revealing a secret passage to a paper. The paper had a chant on it. Wisdom in skin, release from the sin, letter in. They said the chant and heard something outside after. The Greek goddess of wisdom, Athena was waiting for them outside. Everyone outside in shock from what just happened, she started to talk. "Hello, I am Athena, I am part of Cryptious' horrible museum. I will try and help you to my best ability so that you can be free and let out of here. I know what it is like to be trapped in here and I would never wish that upon anyone. I will be your guide on this journey." "Who's Cryptious?" Mia asked.
"Is he the guy who brought us here?" Jobe asked. "Yes." Athena said. "He is pure evil, who's true form is said to drive anyone who stares at it insane. He has been merging his physical form with other physical bodies for millennia, but he isn't the only thing that brought you here. Thousands of years ago Porrima, goddess of the future, wrote a prophecy. It said that in the year 2021 5 mortals would arrive at a mysterious place called Augustus. And that one of them had great power, a fourth of that of God of Evil, one of the most powerful eternious beings to exist. If he was sacrificed whoever sacrificed him would become all powerful, and almost undefeatable. He wants your power, Jobe. "I don't have powers? What is even going on? This is just like... Just li- just-ju-" Jobe fell to the ground, all his past trauma from a time at a summer camp, rushing towards him all at once. But that is a story for another day. Athena, using the remaining power she had woke Jobe up. "I'm-I'm so sorry guys." Jobe said. "It's not your fault for what happened at Camp Cetious."  Ava said. "I'm okay its fine..." Jobe said. They all said okay and started talking to each other about what they each found. "Me and Hailey found a safe but we don't have a passcode for it. Did anyone find a code or something like that?" Max said. "Oh yeah! I found a code!" Bella said. "Okay the safe me and Max found was in the Thea exhibit, lets go." Hailey said. They all headed to the thea exhibit and Bella put the code into the safe. In the safe was a small statue of Portunus. On the stomach of the statue was a hatch that you could open. They opened the hatch and inside was a key. Nene and Jobe led them to The Base so that they could open the first death challenge door. "Wait, who's going in?" Ella asked. "I don't want to." Max said. "Me either." Mia said. Athena interrupted. "I have a way to solve all of this! You will each vote in a person of your choice. "I don't want to vote any of you guys in! We're all related somehow." Bella said. "Its either we don't vote anyone in, or we all die." Max said. "Okay then I guess we need to vote." Ava said. About 5 minutes later they were all done voting. "The 2 people voted into the death challenge are Hailey and Mia." Athena said. Are you guys serious! Why would you guys  vote me in?" Mia said. "Who voted for Mia!" Jobe said. Mia glanced at Max and he was smirking in the corner of the room not knowing she was looking at him, and no one fessed up. "I thought I helped at least a little bit! Why couldn't you vote for Nene!" Hailey said. "Ugh, don't be all pressed cause I didn't get voted in!" Nene said. "With your weird outfit." She muttered. "Look, Hailey. This isn't just about who helped the most. It's about who the majority wants to survive." Leila said. Hailey rolled her eyes knowing that if she survived the death challenge that they would most likely vote for her until she dies. "Guys can we all just stop arguing! We need to get out of here and fighting isn't gonna help!" Jobe said. "Imma be back and I will figure out who voted for me." Mia said. They opened the door and it took them to the Neptune Exhibit. There was water everywhere. When they stepped into one of the doors in it it took them to a different dimension. The dimension was an ocean with rocks that looked like they were arranged to be a sort of parkour. But they were everywhere, and some had pieces of paper on them that had piano notes on them. They jumped to the big rock in the middle where there was a card. It was titled, The Siren's Song. "Do you want to read it?" Hailey said. "Yeah." Mia answered. They heard a hissing noise, and suddenly claws grabbed at them. There were siren's everywhere in the water, just waiting for one of them to slip so they could eat dinner. Mia read, "As you have noticed there are siren's in the water. They will reach for you as you are on the rock, if they catch you, or you fall into the water. You will die. You must find each piece of the notes you need to play the Sirens song on the piano in front of you. They are marked with a, b, c, d, e, f, and g so you don't have to worry about not knowing how to play the piano. You have 10 minutes to find each note and play them in the correct order. When you find them, put the piece that is torn off in the correct place on the card, this will merge the 2 pieces together. You can keep doing this until you find every note. Now that you know what to do, you may now start. Look at the time on this card after this sentence because it will countdown so that you can see how much longer you have to complete the death challenge. 9 minutes and 57 seconds." Mia said. "Hurry, let's go!" Hailey said. Mia set the card on the piano and they started looking for notes for the song. They both had the starting note and were now looking for the rest. Hailey was about to get her last note when she heard piano noises. Her heart stopped. "I'm sorry Hailey, but one of us had  to win." Mia said. Hailey was crying on one of the rocks knowing she was about to die, and then she heard hissing from behind her. She felt scared, then she felt their hands on her, and then she felt nothing at all.
