Chapter 10: An Evil Arrival

They walked back to the base and put the "last" power stone into the door. They tried to rotate and pulled onto the wheel on the door to open it but it would budge. They couldn't move the wheel and couldn't open the door. They realized that there was a new hole for a power stone in the middle of the wheel. "Wait, we have to find another power stone?" Ella said. "What!" Jobe said. "We came all this way to escape, for this!" Ava said. "I hate this place." Ella said. Ella looked back and noticed a paper on the couch that they hadn't seen when they first walked in. "Guys, come here. You need to see this." Ella said. They came over to Ella to see what she wanted them to see. "Cryptious is on his way back with his most powerful exhibit yet. If you want to survive, be prepared for the fight of your life." Ella read. "We need to fight that guy who trapped us here?" Jobe said. "I know, how are we gonna kill him? he's trapped literal gods in this museum." Ava said. "Guys there's something on the back of the pa-" Something interrupted Ella. A portal opened in front of the water fountain outside of the base. Cryptious himself came out of it. "They are still here. I can feel their presence." Cryptious said. "He's here guys!" Ava said in a whispery distressed tone. "What do we do! He said he knows we're still here!" Jobe said. "I think he has the last power stone on that crown he's wearing. We need to get it from him somehow." Ava said. "We need to find something to kill him." Jobe suggested. "Wait guys there was something on the back of the paper." Ella said. "What does it say?" "There is only one thing that is powerful enough to kill cryptious that is in his museum. It is called the mythological stone. He has hid it in his museum in case one of his exhibits tries to kill him or escape. You must find the box that it is kept in. On top of it will be a clue. Beware of the time." "Girl, where do we find it?" Ava said. "Beware of time..." Jobe said. "In one of the Greek mythology books I read when I was little, there was a God of time?" He said again. "What was his name?" Ella asked. "Chromos? I think?" "Let's look for a Chromos Exhibit then." Ella said. "Okay how are we gonna go outside without him seeing us?" Ava said. "Thanata, can you help us?" Jobe asked. "Yes, I owe you guys one." Thanata said. She walked outside with them. "Hey Cryptious!" Ava yelled. "Let them free." Thanata said. "No, one of them has powers and if I kill them, I will be so powerful. I would be powerful enough to take on the God of Evil." Cryptious replied. "What will that do for you! What is the point!" "The point is, I hate this world, and with this power I can destroy it and create a new world, a perfect world. One without people like you and them." Cryptious was about to kill Thanata with a blast of his essence, but Hades swooped in front of it and blocked it. "Are you okay?" Hades asked. "Yes. Thank you. We need to hold him off for them." Thanata said. "Yeah me and you both know we owe them one." Hades said. Thanata and Hades levitated up into the air, and Thanata looked back at Ella, Jobe, and Ava. "You guys can do this. We believe in you. We don't care if we survive or not. We just don't want this to happen to anybody else. And this has been our best night ever since we first got trapped here in this museum." "NOW GO!" Hades said. Cryptious levitated as well, his hands lifted upwards and his lackeys rose from the ground, piling up on each other forming a mountain of black goop that was getting higher and higher the farther up the two gods went. The others bolted off as quickly as they could to look for the exhibit. They eventually found it next to a portal door that was blocked off. They walked into the exhibit and inside was a black box that felt the same as iron. It didn't have a lock on it, it just had 3 holes that looked like ovalish little objects needed to be put into them. There was a notecard attached to the side of it that read: you need to find the 3 elemental stones if you want to open the box to get the mythological stone. The first mythological stone is where you fought a tentacled monster. "If the card says that, we should go back to the front of the Amphitrite Exhibit." Ella said. "But what if it's talking about when I killed her in the death challenge." Ava said. "Me and Ella will go to the Amphitrite exhibit and you can go to the death challenge room where you got the last power stone." Jobe said. "Wait, but I don't want to go alone, what if cryptious sends one of his monsters to come get me or something?" Ava said. "You have powers, you can deal with them. Me and Jobe don't have powers, and we only have like 30 minutes to escape, so we need to go fast." Ella said. "Okay..." "I'll go by myself I guess." Ava said. They all split up to find the first elemental stone. Ava was now in the death challenge room. The stone Amphitrite and bella were still there, still lifeless. Ava felt bad for Bella, she was mad at herself for doing what she did to bella. She was a killer. She was no different than Cryptious. Her thoughts were dark. She looked at the helmet that was on Bella, the amulet that was on the helmet wasn't an amulet at all. It was the elemental stone of water. She wiggled it out of the helmet and got it out after about 15 wiggles. Ella and Jobe were in front of the Amphitrite exhibit, not knowing that Ava had already found the first elemental stone. It of course wasn't there so they went back inside and found Ava waiting for them. "Ava, did you find the stone, we couldn't find it anywhere?" Ella asked. "Yeah, it was an item from the death challenge." "Okay we have the box so we can put it in." Jobe said. Ava put the stone over its place on the box and it went inside on its own as if it were a piece of metal to a magnet, glowing in the empty space between it, and the box in a beautiful teal light. "Two more to go, what do we do next?" Ella said. "Jobe looked over Ava's shoulder and realized that there was a note on the trident they had left in the beginning of the Amphitrite exhibit. He ran to the trident and picked up the note. "The first stone was easily found. But this next one won't be. Go to the place where cryptious keeps trophies." He read. "Oh! When we first got her I found cryptious' trophy case. Follow me. I think I still remember where it is!" Ella said. They bolted off and Ella grabbed the trident on her way. The tall mountain of black goop was getting higher and higher. There was a barrier over the museum made out of dark magic. They were reaching it and when they finally did it was not good for them. As the mountain of goop rose Hades and Thanata looked at each other in defeat. But they still had hope for the 3 heroes. The goop swallowed them, eating them alive. It went back down and Cryptious told it to find Ava, Ella, and Jobe. It moved slowly making a disgusting slimy noise like a giant slug. Cryptious summoned Athena who was still corrupted, to go search for them as well. She went the opposite direction that the blob did. And then he went to look for them himself as well. They got to the trophy case and saw the blob pass by the outside of it. They looked around in the trophy case and found the next stone. It was hidden in a trophy that was one for best tormentor of 2000 B.C. They put it into the box. This time the crack between it and the box glowing with a bright orange light. They had one more left to go before they could kill Cryptious and escape. The next clue was in the same trophy they found the stone in. Cryptious passed by the exhibit but instead of walking away like the others did. He walked inside of the trophy case because he saw that one of his trophies was on the floor. They all hid and quietly walked to the back exit, Cryptious not noticing. But outside of the door was Athena. She saw them. "I found them!" She yelled. They bolted away. Ava and Ella going left, and Jobe going right. The blob and Cryptious were chasing Jobe, and Athena was chasing Ava and Ella. Jobe had the clue for the last elemental stone so he ran into the Library and hid in the secret room where Leila and Mia said the incantation that summoned Athena. He pulled the bookshelf that covered the room back, not fully shutting it so that he could escape when they left. Cryptious and the blob looked everywhere and went through the back exit. The blob turned into thin slime and slithered its way in and out of the library, returning to its original form when it got outside. Cryptious and it split up again to find Ava and Ella. When Jobe heard them leave he pushed the bookshelf blocking the secret rooms entrance and crouched behind one of the other rows of books in the library to read the clue. "I am where you never expected, I am where what was good reflected." Jobe said to himself. He knew what it meant and went to the Thanata exhibit. He ran into Ava and Ella who had run there when Athena was chasing them and who were now trying to find Jobe, and did. "Jobe!" Ava said. "We found the last elemental stone!" Ella said. She held it out and Jobe grabbed it because he still had the box with him. He put it into the box and it made a clicking sound, indicating that it was now unlocked. They opened it and inside of it was the stone. Ella grabbed it and put it into a hole that could fit the stone on the trident she had picked up moments ago. They went back to the outside of the base and started yelling for cryptious. There were now only 7 minutes left to escape. Cryptious, Athena, and the blob came over. "Idiots! Your protectors are dead!" Cryptious said. He made an evil laugh that gave them chills. He looked at the trident and saw that the mythological stone was inside of it. "How did you get that!" Cryptious yelled. "It doesn't matter how we got it, what matters is that you're dead!" Jobe said. Ella handed him the trident. "You killed so many people I love tonight. You killed my best friend! And now I'm going to kill you!" Jobe charged at Cryptious with the trident in his hand. Athena and the blob backed up knowing what he could do with that trident now that it had the mythological stone in it. Jobe only had one shot to do this because the mythological stone could only be used once every 100 years. He whacked Cryptipous with the end of it sending Cryptious to the ground. He lifted it up on top of Cryptious' head and brought it down with all his strength, stabbing Cryptious in his head, and killing him instantly. The blob turned to stone, and Athena turned to ash. With no one protecting her from the wrath of eternal torment she chose when choosing to follow Cryptious. She had been taken by death itself. Cryptious turned to dust as well, only leaving his crown behind. Jobe picked it up and took the red and black stone that was in it out. He looked at Ava and Ella, with a smile on his face. They all hugged and were so happy that this night was finally over. They walked inside and put it into the center of the wheel on the door. Jobe spun it and opened it, revealing a box with a portal behind it. The box was the same one as the one Medusa had gotten for Cryptious. They all looked at each other, looking back at the night, and Ava and Ella ran and Jumped through the portal. Jobe tripped over the box not noticing it and going through the portal after Ava and Ella. The box's eyes glowed when he touched it. And an evil laugh of a woman followed after.
Jobe's Mind: After tonight I've become way closer with Ava and Ella. I don't think anyone knows what happened tonight, and if anybody ever will. I just hope it never ever happens again.
