The monk asked,
"Why have you come?"
"I want to be liked."
"Like yourself. Behave in a likeable way."
"I want to be respected."
"Behave respectably. Respect yourself. Stand up for yourself and for what is right. The worthy ones will respect you for it. Some will not recognise it for the world is full of fools."
"How do I know what is right?"
"Living by a simple creed. A code of honour helps to focus this."
"What is your creed?"
"You should ask that of yourself."
Throughout Humanity there have been many creeds and codes of honour. Most of them have similar features which suggests there is a universal creed.
Drama stories are created to test the codes in extreme situations. Through experiences we are tested and judge ourselves and each other.
Behave the right way =
stability and improvement.
So;
Do the right thing.
Respect Self.
Respect Family.
Respect Nature.
Align with the Harmony.
Five points, easy to remember.
Apply them to all situations especially where decisions must be made.
Note that some people replace "family" with "the state" or "religion". Many people agree, "family comes first".
