I didn't have the best sleep. I had nightmares about Olivia screaming for help and it felt so real. Leaving the tent just before dawn I sat down at the fire place that has hot embers in it. I wanted to cry right now. It felt so real. What if it was? What if Olivia was trying to reach out to me though my dreams for help? I know she can enter my dreams. It's how she stoped the nightmares about Lilith. I need to go find her. I'm going to start treating them dreams as if it is Olivia calling for help and see if she can tell me where she is. I heard moment near by and turning my head I saw Ryker and Kyle. Kyle looked flustered and Ryker looked amused. What were they doing? I thought as I watched them approach their tent. I was in shock when Ryker grabbed Kyle and kissed him. What! They are gay? They are dating! Why didn't they say anything?!
"I missed you." Ryker whispered to Kyle now
"Shut up." Kyle responded embarrassed going back into the tent. Ryker just smiled to himself now. But then he tended up and I was caught red handed. Ryker had seen me and he looked worried now. I just gave him a reassuring smile and pretend to zip my lips. He mouthed a thank you before going into the tent. I smiled now. I was happy for them. Definitely a shock but happy for them. I can't believe I never noticed before. But then again it's not like I was looking. Kyles my brother rykers my best friend. I'm not even surprised they keep it a secret. Rykers a wolf. A Royal wolf. Same sex relationship are basically forbidden unless you have children already. I mean Rachel can't have children with Ian she has to have wolf children and Ian had to have vampire children but they know their situation and know the consequences of cross species breeding. So why the hell is what Rachel and Ian do considered okay but Ryker and Kyle is considered illegal? Stupid image of the Royal people. It will never make sense.
After everyone woke up we had breakfast and then were on our way to go capture the amphivena. I wasn't worried they are normally very calm creatures around females. After driving for over an hour we came to a stop. I looked at Gary
"We have to walk from here. They asked if we can help it to not leave any tracks other then footprints." Gary told me.
"Alright then. How are you transporting the amphivena out of here?" I asked him now.
"Umm we were trying to get her to come this way. We have a transport cage just over there." He said pointing to a cage. I hated using them but know it's the safest option.
"Alright. How far is she from here?" I asked
"Not that far like 30 minutes east." He told me
"I'll go alone and bring her back. Just have the cage ready." I told him
"Is that safe?" Ryker asked now
"I gave clear instructions men were not to try and capture this creature. She turns violent then men are present." I said looking at Ryker then at Gary
"We didn't have a choice. We don't have enough women." Gary told me
"I'm aware." I said getting out of the vehicle. I grabbed a bag that had water and food in it before walking off into the heat. It was still rather hot but it's the dessert. What should I have expected.
I hate this. I wanna go find Olivia and go home and cuddle in bed with her! I don't want to be in a desert right now. This is horrible and I need a shower! I stopped walking when I felt a small tremor on the ground. I must be close. I thought before the amphivena bursted out of the ground in front of me raining sand and dirty down on me now. The fuck? I looked up at her and the wounds on her body were clear. They were old. And some fresh. A spear stuck out of her side as well. I heard some yelling now.
"Whit girl get away!" I turned seeing who I'm guessing is a local of the land with a spear
"No wait please! I'm here to take this creature away." I spoke getting between him and the amphivena. Holding my hands up to stop him "Please don't hurt her more. She is really not a threat to anyone." I told him.
"It killed men." He told me
"Yes I understand and I'm sorry you have lost people. But she's lost as well. Please take my word I will remove her and take her somewhere safe where no one else will get hurt." I told him before seeing the second head come up with intention to attack the man. Moving one hand to the side I snapped my fingers and the head looked at me. Holding my hand out the head relaxed "come on girl it's okay. I'm here to helps you." Spoke in a gentle tone.
"Monster!" The man said angry. I looked at him again
"Please. I'll take her away. Just keep your distance." I pleaded with him. He slowly backed away and the amphivena relaxed more now and began to trust me I turned and removed the spear from her side "there were go. Must better now." I spoke
"Are you a monster whisper?" The man asked me how
"Something like that. These creatures are endangered and I go around saving them. This one here was smuggled out of the Sahara desert when she was a baby and ended up here. I'm going to take her home now where she will be safe and cared for and no one else will get hurt." I told him. I looked at the guy and saw he had lowered his weapon. "If there are any other creatures that are not of your human standard don't hesitate to contact my people. We will send someone to collect it and keep you and them safe." I told him.
"I will let my people know." He told me before running off. I looked at the amphivena now and began walking back towards the cage she followed me without hesitation now. They are rather docile creature. Conflict is not of interest to them. But if men approach either in number or a threat she will turn violent and hostile quickly. Pulling out my two way radio o lifted it up to my mouth
"Gary. Have the cage open and ready. Also do you have a cage cover? She's injured and I don't want her to see any men once's she in the cage she will turn hostile." I spoke. I waited a minute before I got an answer
"Cage is ready and cover in place." Gary responded before I put my radio away.
Getting back to the cage no one was around thankfully so I walked her into the cage and she laid down curling up because there was food there as well. Walking out I closed the cage up before pulling the cover down.
"This is why you always read the reports." Gary spoke sounding embarrassed now. I looked at them "we have been at this for over a week. And I'm just over an hour you have it calm and captured." He added
"Like I said. If you just sent a single female to retrieve her she would have followed without question" I told him before they hooked up two vehicles to the cage to tow it out of here. Climbing in I leaned back against the chair and closed my eyes. But images of Olivia came flashes though my mind of her being beaten and it kept me alert now. "Can we go now I have things I need to do." I said bluntly.
Returning to camp I was anxious to get out of there but mum wasn't ready to leave yet. I told her that I needed to go and I wasn't going to wait around any more then I had to. She realised my anxiety and we left. The 18hrs back to the city was long. Being unable to catch a flight today we checked into a hotel and I was glade to have a shower. After my shower mum was there waiting for me
"What's wrong gem? You are getting worse." Mum told me
"I don't know why but when we got here I started having nightmares about Olivia and I believe she's calling to me for help." I told mum. She looked at me concerned now. "I know I promised to help the fae first but I need to get in contact with Olivia soon I need to know she's okay and safe before I can focus on anything else." I told mum
"Okay. In the morning I will make some calls." She told me I nodded slightly before she went to shower and I laid down to rest.
As soon as I was asleep I could see Olivia crying and screaming for help. I started calling out to her. But she couldn't hear me. It was pointless but I tried to run to her even though I wasn't getting closer it felt like she was getting further away. I screamed out to Olivia trying to get her attention trying to get her to answer me. But nothing. She was just out of my reach and then she was gone. Just like that Olivia was gone and I was back to my regular nightmare of Lilith torturing me.
