Wings of Fire Fanfiction: The Watchers

Introduction/Backstory

Hello, this is a Wings of Fire fanfic so if you haven't read at least the Jade Winglet books this isn't the story for you unless you're okay with a quick backstory.

This backstory is from the original books by Tui T. Sutherland so if I have committed a crime by telling you what has happened I am deeply sorry.

I do recommend that you read her books. They are incredible and she is an amazingly talented person. My petty stories will never do justice of hers.

If you have already read all of the books or at least the last five and you already know the characters then go ahead and skip to the ending where I say a bunch of stuff, and if you haven't then here is my look on it:

Moonwatcher was nervous for her first semester at Jade Mountain Academy, but she was oblivious to what would happen next. Moonwatcher is a NightWing that can read minds and see the future. 

 Her mother, Secretkeeper, took her out of her tribe's home and hid her in the rain forest. There she raised her in secret, but she knew that Moon would have to go out in the world instead of being a weird hermit. 

 So she put her into the new -all tribes welcome- school called Jade Mountain Academy.

This academy seemed like a normal school until the wildest things happened when she met her soon to be best friends:

Qibli the SandWing, Winter the IceWing, Kinkajou the RainWing, and Turtle the SeaWing. 

She and Kinkajou became fast friends. The others came semi-quickly afterwards. 

They went on amazing adventures and quests trying to stop psycho queens and magical spells.  Now at this time a 20 year long war had just ended so the tribes were split. 

 Going to school with other tribes would be a big stretch but the "dragonets of destiny" believed they could do it I mean after all the technically stopped The SandWing Succession (the 20 year long war they are from the first WOF books)

One problem though they all thought that the NightWings' mind reading and prophecies were fake because the whole tribe lied and said that they still had them when almost none of them did since they moved to that piece of land that had an active volcano on it. 

It blew up. Killing Moonwatcher's father, but she didn't know that. (He was a jerk anyway)

 Anyway so with everyone believing that the NightWings where normal Moon had a big problem on her hands luckily for her a huge vision struck her and stopped some of her friends from going into a room that was about to blow up. 

 She didn't save everyone unfortunately, but in this moment of grief she had to explain how she knew that the history classcave was going to blow up. 

Which led to the knowledge of her abilities. They went on adventures looking for ex Queen Scarlet who was on the loose. Sounds like a nice easy backstory I know, but there was something else going on behind the scene. 

A legendary NightWing by the name of Darkstalker was looming deep below in his prison waiting to be let out. He was the most powerful dragon ever born to Pyrrhia.  He had all of the powers: telepathy, prophecies (see the future) could read minds, and was an animus. 

 If you don't know what an animus is, it is an ability some dragons have that can make whatever the enchant either with their minds or speaking it into reality. They need something to enchant to make their spells work though. 

 Like a stone, earring, broom, whatever you can find, even another dragon. So as you could imagine they are very dangerous beings not to be reckoned with.
