There was always something about paired/group projects and presentations that the professors at Chandrila University got off on. You didn't quite know what it was but you reckoned they just liked to see all the anxious and antisocial bitches suffer. Now, you were slightly one of those anxious and antisocial bitches. If you got on with someone and were friends with someone, that was cool because you could easily work with them. However, If you got paired up with someone you didn't know that's when anxiety would creep in.

You were forever wishing that the professors would just give you solo projects as you would always thrive at them. Plus a solo project would be completely all yours and yours alone.

''I can't believe he's not letting us choose our own partners. It would make life so much easier.'' Rey scoffed, before beginning to make bubbles with her pink bubblegum.

''Mmm, yeah we put it together at three in the morning and then went into class the next day and made complete fools of ourselves.''

''We failed.'' You raised your brows.

''It's just a silly paired project AND a potential presentation at the end of the day, y/n.''

''Yeah, I know." You sighed. "Just wish we weren't getting put through this.''

You and Rey laughed together, although not too loud like you usually would if you were outside or in a place where nobody would give you vile looks.

When you turned your head to the side, you noticed that just a little bit further away and just a few rows down from you, you could see one of the nicest guys in your class, Ben Solo. He was looking directly at you with a smile curved across his lips which made you return a small smile followed by a little wave which earned you a little nod as if to say 'what's up?' from Ben.

Ben was a cool guy, you knew each other from classes as well as the occasional dorm party plus he was Rey's cousin, well adoptive cousin. You never got a lot of time with him although when you did have the time it would only be a brief conversation before you were either dragged away by Rey or your boyfriend, well ex-boyfriend now.

The worst part was that you didn't even have Ben's number and he didn't have any social media presence. Even Rey didn't have his number, making you question if he even had a phone at all. Although you did like a man with no social media, there was something hot about it.

Professor Fett finished his lecture and then demanded some silence in the lecture hall as he was about to name-drop everyone who would be working together for the paired projects. Hopefully, you could partner up with Rey despite the last presentation being an absolute disaster.

As the room turned silent, everyone present was now listening closely for their name to be called and who they would be working with.
