You started off as just a normal twenty-two-year-old assistant/caretaker and cook. You were appointed to carry out those duties for Supreme Leader Kylo Ren of the First Order. Kylo had arranged for you to have your own quarters just next to his own so you were close by in case he ever needed anything and it also made your life easier. You actually enjoyed working for none other than Kylo Ren himself and you didn't even find him scary or intimidating at all while most other people feared him. You were a brave girl and a bit of a firecracker, absolutely nothing could scare you.

There were times Kylo would remove his helmet in your presence. He trusted you and liked how you were also comfortable around him just like he was with you. He was very fond of having you around and intended to keep you forever.

It was now the evening of your twenty-third birthday and today just like any other day, you carried out your daily duties and finished them off early before it was time to celebrate your birthday on your own. Today Kylo was out on missions with his knights, leaving you alone for most of the day. You wondered if Kylo knew it was your birthday or if he had no idea but either way he probably just saw today like any other day.

First, you changed into your little black dress and put on some of your favourite music on your datapad while you danced around your room and around the quarters you partly shared with Kylo. You stopped dancing when the buzzer on the oven sounded, causing you to squeal in excitement.

Using an oven mitt to protect your hands, you pulled out a batch of red velvet cupcakes from the oven and then placed them up on the counter. Now all you had to do was wait for a few minutes until they were at a perfect temperature to start frosting them.

Once the cupcakes were frosted, you placed one on a little plate before wrapping up the rest and then putting them away for Kylo as you figured he would love a little treat when he would return from his mission, hoping that it would be soon.

You dimmed down the lights throughout the living quarters and paced around, hoping that somehow Kylo would return in time for your birthday. You placed a single candle in the cupcake and lit it up, sighing as you gazed down at the flame.

''Welp- spending my birthday alone, but that's okay. I'll never understand why my parents left me or why they sent me away. I was only a child and I only had my friends at school but I haven't seen them in so long. I bet they don't even remember me. For my birthday I just wish I didn't have to feel alone anymore. I know I have a few people up here at the First Order, we talk but they're just acquaintances.''

Swallowing a lump in your throat continuing to gaze down at the orange flame you decided to just get everything out of your head as you'd feel so much better if everything was out in the open.

''I wish Supreme Leader Ren was here, or Kylo as I like to call him in my head-''

Before you could finish your little solo birthday speech, you felt a draft behind you and then a feeling of a leather glove gently caressing your shoulder.
