Paterson arrived home at five o'clock after another day of driving his bus around the city. Today was Friday so that meant he had the weekend off which he always loved to make the most of with you.

''Hi, love!'' You called out from the kitchen, placing some chicken and vegetables onto dinner plates meanwhile your three-year-old red cocker spaniel, Ruby couldn't resist wagging her little tail as she immediately ran to the door, feeling rather excited to see her daddy.

''Hi, Ruby.'' Paterson kneeled down, petting the eager pup who was wagging her tail and jumping all over him.

When he saw you in the kitchen he signalled for Ruby to go over to her pink fluffy bed in the corner of the living room, later praising her as she followed the command. Now he could take his coat off without the little energetic fluff ball jumping all over him.

''Hey, honey!'' He finally responded as he hung up his jacket on the coat hook before walking into the kitchen, wrapping his arms around you from behind and then gently placing his hands on your very pregnant stomach.

''And how are my favourite girls?'' He asked, kissing you on the head, as you turned around from what you were doing so you could reach up and give your husband a tender kiss on the lips.

''Mmm, well this one has been tired.'' You said, pointing to yourself. ''And this one has been jumping around and kicking me all day.'' You pointed to your stomach as Paterson hummed and then began rubbing your stomach in circular motions.

''I think she just wants to meet her mommy.''

''I think It's her daddy she wants to meet, she goes nuts whenever you appear.'' You chuckled, earning a swift kick from your baby, making you gasp. ''Ow! See, you felt that, right?"

''I did feel it, she's a strong one.'' Paterson smiled and then slowly dropped to his knees where he kissed your stomach and then gently placed the side of his face against you, hearing his child moving around inside of you. ''I love you, just take it easy on mommy.'' He kissed your stomach again before standing up and then brought you into his embrace, wanting to share a moment with you but that was interrupted when both of you heard a bark and then a whine coming from Ruby as if she was trying to get your attention.

''I love you too Ruby, you're my other favourite girl,'' Paterson called out to Ruby who then ran out of her little pink bed and over to the two of you where he scooped her up and then held her in the middle of you both where you began to scratch behind her long ears.

Ruby would always be your first baby. She was such a special little dog to you both and you would never forget about her, in fact, she seemed super stoked about being a big sister as she would always follow you around all day and even rest her little head on your stomach during the day.

After placing a gentle kiss on your lips, Paterson put Ruby down and then went to the bathroom to freshen up before dinner while you placed two plates onto the table and then filled two glasses. You didn't forget about Ruby, so you gave her some leftovers and she seemed super happy about that while Paterson soon returned from the bathroom, meaning it was now time for you both to relax and eat dinner together.

You and Paterson enjoyed dinner together while talking about what either of you got up to today. There wasn't much to report about during your day as this morning you woke up, ate breakfast, managed to take Ruby on a short walk and then came home and watched some TV while putting up with the ferocious kicks from your little one.
