It was a late night indeed as you, Clyde and your child just arrived home from Jimmy's birthday party at Duck Tape which was an intimate gathering for close friends and family only. It was a pretty wonderful night being around your loved ones and there was nothing like a great atmosphere along with great people and great food!

All three of you ran upstairs to change into comfier clothes and you weren't able to shake off your surprise as Clyde wasn't tired and you were even more surprised that your three-year-old daughter was still wide awake.

This little girl meant everything to you and Clyde who adopted features and traits from both of you. She had his hair and eye colour while she had your nose and smile. She was a beautiful little girl who is also full of so much energy and kindness, oh and she absolutely loves the hell out of you and Clyde.

As the three of you were now downstairs, you sat on the couch with a cup of tea in your hand and watched how Clyde was so invested in playing with her, even if they were only playing dolls and tea parties. You didn't really imagine your life turning out like this with a little family to call your own while also running Duck Tape with Clyde and also being a part-time tutor for homeschooled kids.

The time on your phone read 10:00 pm which was mega late for Summer to be up. You could understand that it was a Saturday, but ten o'clock was just a whole different time for your child to be awake. You finished off your tea and then crouched down on the floor, watching Summer immediately toddling over towards you in her cute pink pyjamas.

"Mommy play!" She exclaimed, offering you one of her little teacups.

"Mommy will play tomorrow. It's bedtime, my little Summer sun."

You could see the disappointment on her face as she really didn't want to go to bed. She wanted to stay up some more and play with you and Clyde but both of you didn't want her staying up so late.

Suddenly he had an idea, scooting over towards you both and then bringing Summer onto his lap.

"Daddy's gonna read you and mommy a story, but first you have to brush your teeth. Can you do that for me?" Clyde tickled Summer's cheek, making her giggle before running off in the direction of the bathroom. If there was one thing she loved, it was a story.

The two of you joined her in the bathroom where all three of you began brushing your teeth together before retreating into Summer's room to begin getting her comfortable for bed.

All three of you somehow managed to squeeze into Summer's bed who was laughing at how funny it was to have the three of you in her bed rather than the nights when she would be in the middle of you and Clyde in your own bed.

Clyde picked one of her favourite stories as she snuggled against you and her favourite stuffed animal. There were smiles and laughter throughout the story, although you noticed when Clyde was reaching the end, Summer's eyes were beginning to close over and the rhythm of her breathing was changing, which meant she was falling asleep.

Clyde shot you a knowing look, making you nod as both of you were about to make your exit. He made sure to finish the story, just to be sure she was really asleep and not pretending.

Staying by her side for an extra three minutes, she was definitely asleep so while he put away the story, you got out of the bed and tucked in your sleeping angel, keeping her stuffed toys on her bed as they made her feel safe along with Clyde turning on her night light.
