A piece of Oasis

The Oasis was hot. The sun felt like a constant assault on their body, the leather clothing making it difficult to breath and stay cool. These clothes were meant to ensnare heat, endure a harsh winter wind. Not exactly suited for this hot climate.Evelynn's cheeks were red, brows furrowed, and she could feel her pale pink lips pulling into a tighter and tighter scowl. It seemed with every step forward, she was kicking up sand and cursing the lack of heads up. Why did nobody warn her? Not even Solas, the know it all mage, said anything to her, She partly wondered if he kept quiet on purpose for the sole purpose of pissing her off."You looking a little warm there, don't go passing out on us again. I can only carry your heavy ass so often." She heard the dwarf quip up, trudging up beside her. " Course not, where's the fun in being dragged across this sandy pit by my ankles?" She snapped right back, reaching up to wipe some sweat from her brow. Some of her loose hairs were sticking to the sides of her face." Just, gotta find the shards and get that door open. Sooner we do that, sooner the better." She could practically sense the smirk pulling onto his face, it was enough that she didn't dare look at him, worried she'd punch him hard enough it would fix that crooked nose of his." We're looking as far and vast we can. Thankfully, they seem close enough to each other its just a matter of digging them up." He said, taking off his coat and hanging it over his left arm. He'd taken off his gloves already, shoved them into his pocket. Bianca sat on his back, lucky enough to piggyback a ride across the hot land." Almost done. We have half of what we need already. Solas has been helping, Cassandra has done little beyond some bitching. .." She stopped for a moment, catching a blue glint in the corner of her eye. She thought it was another shard, but when she turned her head she was just met with his blue eyes instead, almost hidden by hooded lids and harsh brows that furrowed a little harder under the hot sun.Paired with the blue armor she had recently had him suited with, she found herself staring a moment. He looked so handsome in blue. She'd seen him in his usual red and gold shirt, under the red light of red lirium. Under the vivid green of the breach, the rift and the power of the mark. Those colors did him no justice as blue did. It made him look almost as regal of those noble asshats back in .She didn't know how long she'd been staring, but when she found herself coming back he had his hand snapping in her face. " You lost there or something? Iv been trying to grab your attention for the last two minutes!" He almost looked concerned. " Is the heat getting to you or something? Need to find shade for a minute?"He was already looking around, trying to find a decent place to rest for a minute. She was again humiliated, to a degree. Cursing and muttering under breath, " Im fine. Just, fine.. Maybe we could all take a break. You all find a spot, I need a moment." She gave him no time to say anything, walking ahead of him to find a place to be by herself for a while. She could hear Cassandra calling her name, even Solas inquiring about what they were doing. She didn't hear anything after that, already too far ahead to hear.Leaning her head back against the cool rock of the cave, she stripped off her overshirt, casting it over her thigh while she sat and cooled off. Her staff on the other side of her. What was that? How could she find herself getting comfortable with their least appreciated companion, drowning in those sea blue eyes.. She was making herself look like a fool. She wouldn't drop her gaurd, everything and everyone had to be after her. It was all she had everything and everyone had to be after her. It was all she had ever known. She needed to be more vigilant of herself. She had to focus, do what was needed, no more and no less.

If there was a Maker above, they were awfully cruel to torture her like this.
