Porter
I watched as Levi left the room with Debbie, Wyatt giving him a reassuring smile. It seems like there was something I was missing out on between them. And if he was asking Debbie something I was assuming he was asking her something medical, but what did I know. Kurt got really lucky that she was his nurse because she's probably the nicest woman I've ever met. Since Jeremy and I were constantly coming here she really got to know us. Honestly I consider her part of the family.
"No Jeremy today?"
With a laugh I walked over and hugged him before sinking down into the chair next to his bed. "He ate too much cheese."
He softly laughed as Wyatt took the other seat on the opposite side of the bed. "Well, wouldn't be the first time." He was then looking over at Wyatt as he said, "Reminds me of your mother. She was lactose intolerant but ate cheese and ice cream like mad."
My eyes slid over to Wyatt as I suddenly realized who his mother was. Kurt didn't talk about his family very often, but the stories he's told us were floating back into my mind. I knew he had a sister, Levi's mother, but forgot he had a sister who died. She must be Wyatt's mother. Kurt had been working at the farm forever since he was my dad's best friend. But even though I had known him for so long, he was a pretty private person. It seems that Levi and Wyatt might be the same way.
They started talking between themselves as my phone buzzed in my pocket. I couldn't help but roll my eyes when Jeremy asked to bring home some coffee. He's going to destroy his stomach. After sending him a random gif the door opened and Levi was coming back in. Debbie looked happy like always as she walked back over to Kurt's bed.
We stayed for a while longer before saying our goodbyes and walking back down to my truck. "Jeremy is requesting coffee," I said while sliding into the driver's seat with a huff. "So if anyone wants anything now's the chance."
Wyatt ran a hand over his face while saying, "I'm good."
It only took a few minutes to get to a Starbucks and ordering Jeremy his favorite iced coffee. When I turned around to ask Levi if he wanted anything, I was startled to see him so close. It seemed that he had scooted forward to order, his face quite close to mine. I could see just how long his eyelashes were and the soft curves of his face. He had slight stubble across his jaw that I weirdly wanted to touch.
"Sir?"
The barista's voice snapped me out of the weird trance I was in, clearing my throat while turning towards the screen again. "Do you want anything?" I asked without looking back at him.
"No," he softly said.
"Sorry, that's all."
Once I got the coffee we drove back to the farm in silence, which only made me want to get home faster. After parking I all but fell out of the truck before walking into the farmhouse, noticing Jeremy now on the couch. "Hey," I said while walking over and sitting next to him.
"Thank you so much," he said while grabbing the coffee from my hand. I simply rolled my eyes when he took a giant sip of the drink before setting it onto the coffee table. "How's Kurt?"
"Good," I said while hearing the front door open.
I jumped when fingers were suddenly resting onto mine, making me look up into Jeremy's worried eyes. "You okay?"
With a nod I watched Wyatt walk into the room, Levi following close behind. "Hey Jeremy," Wyatt said with a smile. I saw the instant blush creep onto my brother's cheeks which only made me roll my eyes. The last thing I wanted to witness was my brother flirting with someone, or someone flirting with him. It looks like I'm going to have to have a talk with Wyatt, especially the way he looks at Jeremy. Jeremy hasn't had a boyfriend since high school and that guy turned out to be a dick. The last thing I wanted was for someone else to hurt him like before. The dick from high school had devastated Jeremy so much that he completely gave up on love. No one was going to make him feel like that again.
