Porter

I just finished putting the rest of the food onto the table when Jeremy and Wyatt walked into the kitchen. They were both laughing and seemed to be in really high spirits, which made me really happy. It'd been such a long time since I had seen my brother with an actual smile on his face; it was so refreshing to see. If Wyatt could make him this happy, I'd gladly want him to stay. It might take longer for him to open his heart up, but I really hoped he did.

"Hey," I said as they sat down at the table. "How was fishing?"

"Wyatt caught three fish!"

"Nice going city boy."

He rolled his eyes with a laugh. "Thanks country boy. Speaking of city boy, is Levi down here?"

"Not that I know of," I said as Jeremy started digging into the food.

If one of us made breakfast or lunch, we agreed the other one would make the next meal. It had started when we were younger and couldn't agree on who would cook. Thank god our dad taught us everything we needed to know about cooking or else we'd be fucked.

"I'll go get him," Wyatt said as he started to get up.

"I'll go, it's fine."

With that I walked out of the kitchen but slowly turned around when I was far enough away. When I looked back into the kitchen I saw Jeremy telling some story, Wyatt staring at him with a look that seemed very intimate. It was pretty obvious Jeremy didn't realize how Wyatt was looking at him, like they were the only people around.

I quickly turned around and walked up the stairs while feeling a weird ping in my chest. I was happy Jeremy was happy, ecstatic. I would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of that. Having someone look at me like that or even having someone to talk to like that. My entire adult life had basically been hook ups and one night stands that it was all I knew. Trying to hook up with Julie had changed my mind on certain things, or maybe I was still shook up that my dick didn't get hard. Maybe it was trying to tell me something, like to make a change. Or maybe I was a fucking idiot who was talking to his dick.

With a scowl I ran a hand over my face before softly knocking onto Levi's door. "Levi?"

After a few seconds the door slowly opened where a disheveled Levi looked up at me. My throat felt weirdly dry as I stared down at his slender face, suddenly getting the urge to touch his skin. What is wrong with me? There's no way we could ever end up together, we're too opposite. Fuck that opposites attract saying.

"There's lunch downstairs if you're hungry."

"Okay," he softly said before opening the door more. I frowned when I saw the dark bags under his eyes, his disheveled hair and pale skin.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

I frowned more when I placed a hand onto his forehead. "You're burning up."

"I'm really okay."

After I gave him a flat look he sighed, leaning his body more onto the door. "Get back into bed." When he didn't move I crossed my arms over my chest, raising an eyebrow. "Levi, you need to get back into bed."

He grumbled but eventually did wander back into bed, his movements very slow. Once he was pulling a blanket over himself I walked into the bathroom, grabbing a washcloth. After it was damp I walked back over to him before sitting on the side of the bed. I ran a hand over his slightly sweaty forehead to move his blonde hair out of his eyes. I then gently placed the washcloth onto his skin.
