Levi

"Have a good Christmas Levi!"

"Thanks guys, you too!"

After our goodbye hugs I jogged to the front door, smiling when I saw Porter's truck waiting outside. I still loved that he offered to drive to my rehearsals once the weather started to get bad. The snow here was no joke and he wanted to make sure I got there safely.

It'd been about six months since I had surgery and was finally to the point where I could wake up with no pain. For the most part I'd been waking up in pain almost every single day, which is annoying as fuck. But it was all worth it since I was able to finally be one hundred percent myself. I had to go through physical therapy, still having multiple sessions booked. Once my therapist cleared me for some more activity, I looked into theatre. The actors and actresses that came to my room when I was still in the hospital really inspired me. I wanted to do the things I've always wanted, just didn't know how. So once I was feeling up to it I drove to the theatre and auditioned.

There I've met some of my closest friends, people I truly cherish in my life. Having friends that truly loved and respected the real me was still odd to me, but I couldn't be happier. There was nothing more I loved than performing with all of them, besides being at the farm of course. And now that the final play of the year was over, I could relax with Porter at home. Lounging around on the couch with him had become truly one of my favorite things.

Adjusting the hat on my head I carefully made my way over towards his truck before diving into the warmth inside. "Hey darlin'," he said while leaning over to kiss me. "How was everyone?"

"They were good," I said while shivering. He turned the heat up while starting to pull away from the curb. "Look what Kaci got me!" I held up a pair of mittens that were a soft mint green. "She made these aren't they soft?" I gently rubbed them against his stubbly face as he laughed. "Oh and Tommy got me this blanket," I said while digging into my bagful of goodies before pulling out a white fluffy blanket with rainbows over it. "Jack got everyone books from this cool bookstore he found and Penny got me a gigantic coffee mug."

"Sounds like the part went well," he said with a smile. "I'm glad you had a good time."

"It was so fun! And we had some food delivered from that bomb ass pizza place you and I went to that one time. I feel like I have a food baby," I said while placing my hands onto my stomach.

Porter gently laughed again before merging onto the highway as snowflakes started to fall. "Hopefully you aren't too full for some dessert."

"You know I'm always down for that."

I then turned the Christmas songs playing on the radio up higher before singing along to the songs. I'd been so happy lately, even doing small things like making dinner made me feel like I actually belonged. Having friends and family that love and appreciate you will make you feel like that.

By the time we pulled into the ranch it was full on snowing, looking like a snow globe. Porter parked his truck next to Wyatt's SUV in the driveway before we both got out. Right as I started walking up the steps I felt something pelt my back, making me turn to see a laughing Porter.

"So it's like that huh?" I asked while grabbing some snow and rolled it into a ball.

"Looks like it city boy."

With a laugh I threw the snowball at him, hitting him on the coat. By the time he picked up more snow I was already running away, both of us laughing. We pelted each other with snow before his long arms were wrapping around me. We eventually landed onto the snow covered ground, his larger body hovering over mine.
