Seven Years Later

"Uncle Levi! Can I have some more turkey?"
My eyes instantly wandered over to Paige, who was smiling brightly at Levi from her spot next to him. "Of course," he said while reaching for the plate that was in front of them. Her big green eyes followed his movements before she smiled brightly again.
"Thank you!"
"I want some more turkey," Julia said as she watcher her twin sister get more food.
"You can have more when you finish what's on your plate first," Wyatt said from the other side of the table.
Julia stared down at her plate before saying, "Okay Daddy."
A hand on my thigh made me look over at Levi, a smile instantly covering my face. A lot had changed in the past couple of years but my love for him had never changed. Since I was sitting on his left I could see his wedding ring, my fingers slowly touching it. It still feels like only yesterday that Wyatt and I were coming up the greatest plan we've ever had.
We had our dad's wedding ring split in two, the jeweler able to make two rings out of that one. The other half of Levi's ring had delicate diamonds, complimenting the silver ring my dad had. The other half of Jeremy's ring also had diamonds, mixed with some white gold. They both turned out really unique and both Jeremy and Levi had cried extremely hard.
When I proposed to Levi it was six months after our first Christmas together, when both of us were out riding horses one evening. We'd made it a tradition to ride together at least once a week, just enjoy each other's company. That particular day we rode out into the field and had a picnic, where I asked him to marry me. It was perfect and literally everything I ever wanted. Jeremy got engaged a few weeks later, when him and Wyatt went on a weekend trip. After both of our weddings Jeremy and Wyatt wasted no time in adopting their children.
When their surrogate was first pregnant no one knew she was carrying twins, a surprise to everyone. Seemed pretty fitting that an identical twin would end up having a set of identical twin girls. Paige and Julia were now six and absolutely adorable; both having green eyes and unruly blonde hair. They were the sweetest little girls I had ever been around, especially to their little brother.
My eyes wandered over to little Hudson who was now sitting on Theo's lap, his face buried into his shirt. Hudson was only three and was the shyest kid I had ever met. If he wasn't attached to either Jeremy or Wyatt, he was all over Theo. Theo and Marie were the best grandparents any child could ask for.
My eyes kept going around the table, to see Katie and her husband Patrick and their two sons Frankie and Joseph. And of course Kurt and Debbie were also at the table, their love growing stronger each and every day. They actually ended up getting married a year after Jeremy and I's weddings. It was great to see them so happy together, and to see Kurt completely healthy.
I wrapped my right arm around the back of Levi's chair, his head resting against my shoulder for a few moments. The ranch was always busy now with family, which was something I loved. All of us gathered for every holiday and every birthday. It was moments like these that I wished my dad was still here, he would have loved every minute of this. But I knew he was still here, watching over us. Hudson's middle name was also Ryan, which was our dad's name. Paige's middle name was Rachel, which was Wyatt's mother name and Julia's was Theodora, obviously named after Theo. Every single one of their names was meaningful and I thought that was beautiful.
"Would anyone like a piece of pie?" Kurt asked before starting to cut up the different pies we had. The calming sounds of everyone's voices were making me happily sigh, Levi looking back up at me.
"You okay?"
With a nod I leaned in to kiss the side of his head. "Very good. Just deciding which pie I want."
"I'd say both, they all look good."
"Amen to that," Jeremy said which made us all laugh.
The conversation switched to random topics before all the food was eventually eaten. Once the dishes were done we all watched a movie together and just had fun. I didn't think that life would have ended up like this for me, but I couldn't imagine my life to have gone any other way. Even though sometimes there are truly awful experiences in our lives, the good will come and it will find us. Mainly when we least expect it. As my eyes traveled around the room with my family I smiled, glad that I never gave up on the good in life.
A/N: kind of a short epilogue but I've found that it's literally impossible for me to write something that doesn't end up soft. I didn't want to make it too cheesy but who are we kidding, I'm all about the cheese. I can't believe I finished it!!!!!!!!! This story was over two years in the making and I'm so glad I didn't give up on it and had the chance for these characters to tell their story. I hope you enjoyed it and sorry if it got pretty cheesy towards the end, it's just not possible for me to write any other way. Another story down :)
