Chapter 14- surprises

Crouton and I walked along the path of the beach and I shivered. "Dang Croutie, it's cold out here" I said. He laughed and put his crazy patterned jacked around me. "Better?" He asked. "Very." I took off toward the house and he chased after me. I felt arms around my waist and I was held close to Crouton. "There's something I was wanting to ask you," he said. I looked up at Crouton and smiled. "Anything you need to ask me. I'm always available" I said. "Okay.." He sounded nervous. He then got down on one knee and pulled out a small box "Maelee Elizabeth Dawson from the moment I saw you dance your heart out, I knew you were the one. I knew God sent you to me. So would you do me the honor of being Maelee Elizabeth Olds?" He said. He opened the box and there laid a beautiful silver diamond ring. I put my hand over my mouth. I couldn't move, but when Crouton said my name I grabbed his collar and kissed him. I could tell in his eyes he knew that was a yes. He slid the ring on my finger as we kissed and we headed home.

"Hey Croutie I'm going to go make dinner, I need you to run out and get me some stuff though, okay?" I said. He nodded and picked me up, putting me on the counter. "Ooh, and some chocolate. Remember" I said. He grinned and nodded "right, I might pick you up some 'other' necessities while I'm out" he said. I smiled and hugged him "thank you"
"For what?" He asked. "For being the best boyfriend I could ever imagine" I said. I then took something out of my pocket and showed it to him. It was a heart necklace made of wood. It had FF5 carved in the middle "I-I made this for you" I said and handed it to him "it's nothing compared to this ring but, it's just a little present from me to you" I said. He grinned and put it on. "It's beautiful. I'm going to go get your girl stuff" he said and kissed me. He left the house, leaving me there staring at my ring. I then called up my parents, who screamed in my phone that they were SO happy for me. Turns out Jake asked for my dad's blessing. Which is awesome. Remind me to kiss him extra hard when he gets back hahaha
