"DADDY! DADDY!"
Malachai Parker turns around from where he was facing his twin, Josette Parker, in an argument to see his five-year-old daughter sprinting towards him. He smiles and bends at his knees, catching her in a hug. He smiles as her small body relaxes into him, her arms hugging his shoulders as he stands at full height. He pecks her forehead and pulls back, letting her rest on his hip.
"Daddy, guess what! Guess what?!"
He does a fake but dramatic gasp. "What?"
"Me and mommy got to see Grandma Mary and Cousin Jackie. I met two of Jackie's friends, Ollie and Ash!" Her naturally pouty lips look like her mother's, but the resemblance between the father and daughter is uncanny.
"Did you have fun?" Jo asks, making Aidynn turn to her. Aidynn didn't need to know the 'adult conversations' to know Jo and Kai Parker didn't have the best relationship, which made her not particular fond of her aunt.
"Duh, Jo Jo! Ooh, I held a baby with mommy! Her name was Andy!" She squeals, with the biggest smile, making Kai's lips turn up a little. This child was the only thing Kai truly and purly loves in this world.
"No, her name was Andrea and she's Luke and Liv's age." The mother 'corrects' her daughter as she climbs the porch stairs.
Kai's ex-girlfriend stood in all her glory against the railing, even if Jo barely tolerated her and Joshua hates her, she didn't care. Maya Kenner at the ripe age of twenty-one wasn't accepted by the Parker's for her werewolf nature, that's why she and Kai got along. His family didn't really care for him, either. So, when he was sixteen and told his mom, dad, and siblings that Maya was sixteen and pregnant, Joshua wasn't pleased. He never talked to Maya or Aidynn, or helped them. He loathes Aidynn's nature.
To Papa Parker, you're either witch or wolf, never a half-breed, as he'd call her to Kai. He didn't like that, so they fought a lot--that lead to them arguing about his 'defect' and 'how she might have it' which ended up in a few smacks to Kai. Joshua hated the possiblity that Aidynn could be a siphon, hated it even more since she'll most-likely be a wolf when she's older. He also hated the fact she wasn't born on Gemini Territory, but in New Orleans. He just hated her whole existance.
The brunette child rolls her eyes. "Yeah, ok, Mommy."
"Don't be as sass ass, Aiddy." Maya murmurs, stealing a small glance at Kai. He smiled at the mother of their child. The two still cared for each other but Maya could sense he was losing his head a little, his coolness around her was dwindling, he was more irritable, cold, but he was the warmest, most kind, calm, and patient around Aidynn. Maya and Kai started dating six months before Aidynn was accidentally conceived--at fifteen--and only broke up in October of 1992.
