02.20 The Last Day

THE WITCH ROLLED OVER WITH A GROAN AS THE GHOST YELLS FOR HER. "What do you want?"
"Ouch, darling. You wound me with the hostile attitude. No wonder you have so many people lining up to be your friend--you are just so cuddly!"
"Kol, I'm--"
"Hush, someone's here."
"W-" She's cut off by three steady knocks at the door. "Who?"
"Elijah."
She gets up, pops a mint from her side table in her mouth, straightens her sweatpants and oversized t-shirt.
"You never get that dressed up for me." Kol pouts.
"Shh." She fluffs her hair, opening the door with a smile. In a pressed and proper suit, Elijah stands with a few bags in his hands. "Good morning, Mr. Mikaelson. Wanna come in?"
"I would. Thank you, Ms. Kenney." He slides past her and sits the bags on her mini counter. "Assuming we still have our deal, I need you to do something for me."
"What?"
"My brother is here, and preparing to break the curse. He has Elena waiting, he has the Moonstone, he most likely has a vampire, werewolf, and witch, too. I have a page from a witch's grimoire from a few centuries ago, it's a spell to save the life of a doppelganger. I brough everything you'll need."
"Elijah? There's...There's something you need to know." She mumbles as she plops on her bed. "I...met Klaus."
He was obviously stunned. "Where?"
"Here we go."
"I work with Alaric, I seen him at the school. I sorta made a deal with him."
"What? What deal, what were his exact words, Ariana?"
"I can't say, but he won't break the deal!"
"What did he promise you? He cannot be trusted."
"Hypocrite."
She scoffs at him. "That's grand coming from you! I'm supposed to trust you, I've seen Kol's memories! I know what you do, Elijah! You say you'll keep your word, but as soon as it suits you, you'll break it. And I'm fine with that, I am, ok? But don't sit here and lecture me on Klaus when your worse! You make promises and break them, you're unpredictible. Yet for some Goddess forbidden reason, I trust you! With Klaus I know what I'm gettin' myself into."
"I only want you safe, Ariana."
"I know that...but I can take care of myself. I've done it for years before we met, before I knew I had Kol. Besides, he can't break the curse."
