- 2 DAYS LATER -

I packed the last t-shirt into my suitcase and gazed at it, amazed how everything could fit into it, "Aleah! We gotta' pack your clothes sweetie!"

"Wokay mommy!" I heard her tiny voice, followed by the sound of her tiny feet running down the hallway.

"Roar!" I growled as she ran into the room and lifted her up, making her let out a small shriek followed by giggles, "C'mon, we gotta' leave in a half-an-hour.

- 1 HOUR LATER -

-

Danielle: We're in the airport :D Which gate?

Gerard <3: Gate G

Danielle: lol we'll be there soon

Gerard <3: yay ^-^ can't wait

-

"C'mon Aleah," I looked around the gate while I held her wrist.

"I found Gee mommy!"

"Where?" I asked in shock because she had found him before I had.

"Wight there!' She pointed to a guy my age with gray hair tucked neatly under a beanie and a leather jacket.

"I don't think that's him sweetie." I shook my head lightly.

"It is mommy!" She tried to pull me forward, but her small weight wasn't enough to move me.

-

Danielle: Did you by any chance dye your hair gray?

Gerard <3: Yes ma'am

-

"Danielle!" I quickly lifted my head from my phone to see a familiar face right in front of me with his arms open, to which I gladly accepted, "It's so good to see you again!"

"Nice hair grandpa." I lightly pecked him on the lips making a smile tug at his lips.

"You know you love it." He smirked, "So where's my honorary daughter." We both chuckled a little bit.

"She's hiding behind me. She has a little case of social awkwardness, you could say." I said as I looked behind me, seeing Aleah's puffy winter jacket, "Aleah, c'mon, it's Gerard."

She slowly walked out from behind my legs and her face immediately lit up, "Daddy!" She yelled out as she ran towards him, tightly gripping onto his leg.

My eyes welled up with tears, "I think she remembers you." I giggled a little bit watching him struggle to detach Aleah from his leg.

"Flight to Nizhiny Novgorod, Russia will begin boarding now."

"We should probably go catch our flight. I got first class for my special ladies." He patted his jacket pocket.

I grabbed Aleah's little hand as we walked towards the front of the line and Gerard handed them our tickets before we entered 'the tunnel', leading into the plane.

"Hello ladies and gentlemen, thank you for choosing United Airlines..." The flight attendant blabbed on about the safety video while I was focusing on getting Aleah into her seat.

Gerard sat behind Aleah and I with some guy, whom I dismissed out of my mind.

- 16 HOURS LATER -

"Danielle, we're here." I shook my head, my eyes slowly opening as I saw Gerard's face hovered over mine.

I giggled softly and pecked him on the lips before adverting my attention to Aleah. I unbuckled myself and stood up, unbuckling Aleah and resting her on my hip. I turned my head towards Gerard seeing if he was ready, when my eyes were caught in the glare of familiar blue ones. I quickly looked away, it couldn't have been.

"Danielle? You okay?" I felt someone's hand on my shoulder and I looked to see Gerard's concerned expression.

"Y-Yeah... I think I just spaced out." I said still fazed by the man I had caught staring at me.

--

"Hey Danielle, I'm going to go grab a quick coffee. You want anything?"

"Nah, I'm okay." I sat down on a bench, cradling Aleah as best as I could.

"Kay, I'll be back." I smiled slightly and watched as he disappeared into the mass of people.

"Hey." I turned my head to see the same blue eyes as I had seen on the plane.

"Uh, hi." Something about the man looked familiar, as if I had known him before, but something about his appearance was off.

"I'm Alexander." He said, and everything made sense. His eyes, voice, everything. just. clicked.

"What're you doing here Alex?" I said with a roughness to my voice, I didn't plan to be pleasant.

"D-Danielle?" His voice cracked slightly, "Is that you? Is that my daughter?"

"Yes and yes. Now wha-"

"Please take me back." He said with pleading eyes.

"What?!"

"Please."

"Why the hell would I ever take you back?"

"Because I fucked up, I know I did. The stress of having a baby that early in my life was too much for me to cope with. I understand now! I want to be there for Aleah as she grows up! To be her father! To meet her for fuck's sake!"

"You are her father."

"Let me clarify. I want to be there for her. I want to be around while she goes through the rest of her life. I already missed four years and I need to make those up to her. To you." A tear slipped out of his eye, and I understood.

I understood how left out he had been of Aleah's life, but he didn't deserve to be in it again! For god's sake, he cheated on me and brought me to the lowest point in my life! I was financially and mentally unstable for a good two years and he just thinks he can come into my life like that? Fucking ridiculous!

"Hey Danielle. What's going on here?" I heard Gerard and his voice had a concerned tone to it.

"It's Alex." I spat.

"Look asshole," Gerard walked up to Alex with a snarl, "I've heard about what you did to Danielle and she deserves so much better than you. Aleah is such an important part of her life and she does not need a negative influence. So I suggest you fuck off before things get physical." Gerard pushed him back and took a satisfying sip of his coffee.

"I'll be seeing you Danielle." Alex walked away with a smirk on his face.

"I'll never let him hurt you, I promise." Gerard walked up to me, planting a long kiss on my lips, the coffee from his breath lingering in my mouth, "Now let's get out of here, shall we?" He smiled and I followed him out of the airport, holding Aleah close to my chest.
