My Giant Problem

First Day

I packed my backpack and set all my things in place.

My mom made me a lunch before I left with a 'sweet surprise'. I thanked her and headed for the bus. Turns out all humans need a 'guardian' to help them get around and such and I could not be more surprised at who it was...

Jack, from the cinnamon roll stand! I walked up to the bus stop and saw him there. "Hey" he smiled "We met at the cinnamon roll stand. I'm Jack Incase you forgot. "

I started, my jaw touching the floor. Is this what happens when you eat all your vegetables? "Oh! You must be very confused!"

I nodded my head as a signal of my confusion. "I am a size shifter'' Jack explained " I can freely change my size. I work at the human mall because the giant mall wasn't hiring."

I breathed a sigh of relief. "H-hi. I never really introduced myself, huh?
My name is Ellie. I just moved here from Arizona."

Jack smiled and picked me up. "Yea? Wanna sit on the bus and tell me about yourself? " I nodded very quickly and smiled. He smiled back and sat down. We got a lot of wierd looks and I felt very anxious.

I could hear kids whispering and giggling in the background. I felt my ears get hot and felt really dizzy. "It's gonna be ok. I will be here to be your friend and protect you." A sweet voice from above boomed. Jack looked at me and blushed lightly. "Thank you very much, Jack." I said wiping a tear away.

"Are you ready for your first class? " He asked placing me on his shoulder. "Yea, I guess I am."

We walked into sliver shiny double doors revealing lockers,classrooms, and worst of all... People. I felt very nervous on this moment. I didn't know what to do. I took a deep breath and saw we had arrived.

We headed into a class with a young Asian woman in the front of the class. She seemed to be on the middle of a lesson. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw us. Then she smiled.

"Hello, there" she warmly said "I am Ms. Rao. You must be Ellie, the new human student I was told about, please have a seat. I see that Jack is your escort, so you will have the same schedule." She smiled and gestured for is to sit down. Jack sat at an open seat near the back and smiled.

"Would y'all like to introduce yourselves? " Ms. Rao's chipper voice asked. I looked around nervously and saw that odd boy from the store. He looked cold, emotionless, even dangerous.

I stood up and said "Hello, everyone. My name is Ellie. I like gaming and reading.  I just moved and I'm excited to meet new friends."

"I'm Jack. Me and Ellie met at the cinnamon roll shop at the mall. I can size shift  so I work  in the human section, and turns out we got to be pretty good friends" Jack blushed at the end of his sentence and I giggled a bit.

"Alright now that everyone is settled in" Ms Rao said smiling at everyone "Open your laptops and you may study for the next test. This is all a review from last year,but to start off strong let's refresh our brains!"

"Math? Easy! Math is my strong suit!" I explained to Jack. "Do you wanna study with me?"

Jack rolls his eyes and said "Of course. Math is unbelievable for me so it's nice to have my own little calculator to help me out."

I smiled and flipped open my laptop.
"If you had 6 pennies and 7 quarters but you take away 5 nickels how much money would you have?"

Jack paused and started laughing.  
"What's so funny?" I inquired.
"Because this is science class!"

I rolled my eyes playfully and then the bell rang. I packed up my stuff and Jack scopped me up on his hands. ''Ready for cooking?"
