Chapter Twelve: Jail Break!

The Next Day, 8 O'clock PM:

"Lights out, ladies!", the guard yelled. Everyone went to their beds, and waited for him to leave the room. Once the door closed, it was go time. I hid under the bed the whole day so the Warden wouldn't suspect what happened to me. As I got from underneath, me and the girls huddled. "Is everyone ready?", I asked. "Let's do this!", they said. The game plan was simple:

1. Use the keys Tiny stole to unlock the cell doors and main one to this floor of the prison.

2. Everyone gets dressed up in disguise as a police officer or guard of the law (Bam-Bam and a few of the boys were able to get enough from the laundry).

3. Sneak into the prison's execution room as "fellow guards" to see the show.

4. Before the clock strikes the time for Yancy's execution, it'll be go time to break him out of that electric chair.

5. Go after the Warden and expose his lies to the law of what kind of person he really is; Sparkles will be hijacking the security cameras and police phone calls during the big break.

6. Save Yancy!

This plan shouldn't be any difficult to get through. All the guards are now at the execution room waiting for the show to start, so there was not another moment to lose.

Five Minutes Later...

   After we all got dressed, Tiny unlocked the cell door as well as everyone else's. Before it was go time, I looked at everyone and said "Okay, everyone! It's time. It's time to show Warden that he's nothing but a liar and murderer. And he has Yancy; just waiting to get fried up! So let's show him how "we want to be free". Prisoner style, that is!" Everyone cheered after my speech, and immediately ran out the door. I was the last one to go. I looked again at my necklace and spoke to myself. "Hang in there, Yancy. I'm coming to save you."

The Execution Center:

   Everyone marched orderly so we didn't look suspicious while going inside the room. Sparkles left the group to go straight to the security office. I took a seat and immediately felt horrible when I saw Yancy sitting in that chair. He was strapped down very tight, and he was sweating a lot; knowing that he was going to die. "Just a few more minutes...", I said. As the room filled up immediately, the Warden went on stage and looked at the crowd. "Everyone! It is now the time to execute this murderer for what he has done and committed to his family. Charged with murder, and brutal assault in prison. It is now time for the execution.", he said while walking around where Yancy was sitting. One guard put the black mask over his head, while the other put a wet sponge on his head. Next came the electric device on his head. As the guards got all done with Yancy, the Warden walked up again. "Mr. Yancy. As head and owner of Happy Trails Penitentiary, I here by sentence you to death. Electricity will now be going through your body; may God have mercy on your soul.", he said. I could hear Yancy breathing hard under that mask. He was really scared. I looked at the clock and saw that there was only ten seconds left. "Wait for it...", Tiny said. We all had our eyes on the clock and waited for the big handle to hit 12. And before you know it, I screamed "NOW!!!" Next thing you know, everyone in their seats got up and began to attack the guards and tried to get to Yancy and the Warden. I got up from my seat quickly to get up on Stage and get Yancy out of that chair.

In the Security Room:

  "991, what is the location of the emergency?", the operator asked. "There's about to be a murder at Happy Trails Penitentiary. There's your hint!", Sparkles said on the phone. But before the operator could say anything else, she hung up the phone and looked back at the security cameras. Waiting when to turn them onto the jail TVS.

Back at the Execution Center:

After untying Yancy from the chair, I took off the black hoodie and saw him sweat like crazy. I put my hand on his cheek to calm down. "B-Buns?", he said quietly. "Shh... It's okay. We're going to get what's right once and for all.", I said. He gave me a smile and got up from the chair. We then ran off the stage and got through all the prisoners who were fighting off the guards. But there was no sight of the Warden. As we both made it pass everyone, I met up with the girls. "Are you guys okay?", Bam-Bam asked. Right now wasn't a time for a hug; now was a time to put an end to this case of mine. "Just get everyone ready for when the cops arrive. The TVS should be on soon. And I'm going to find the Warden.", I said to the group. As I did, I took out the gun in my pocket and made sure it was loaded. But before I walked away, Yancy grabbed my arm. "Buns! No! You'll be dead for real! He knows yous escaped and that you're not dead. If he sees yous, he'll kill yous in a second.", he said with a few tears going down his face. I then looked at him and thought about what I was about to do. On one hand, I be avenging my family, but on the other I might end up going to federal jail for life for murder. But I would get to be with Yancy forever; which doesn't sound too bad. After thinking about it all for a second, I looked at Yancy and grabbed his hands. "I have to do this. If I die, I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed being with you. And... I love you, Yancy...", I said softly. Yancy's eyes opened wide, and so did the girls. I then closed my eyes and leaned in for a kiss that could be my last one. Yancy did the same thing. But before our lips touched, I closed the doors behind me and ran. While running out the room, I could hear Yancy yelling, "BUNS! NO!!!" But that didn't stop me. After running around the prison, I found the hallway leading towards the Warden's office door. I checked the gun one last time, took off the officer disguise, and walked down slowly. "I'm ready for you...", I said to myself.
