Rowan's POV
I looked at Simon shocked at what he just said.
"What?" I whispered, barely audible.
"I said, i think i love you," he said confidently, while staring into my eyes.
"Simon, we're only 12, you can't really be in love at this age," i told him.
"But, i am, and i'm in love with a girl, that is the most beautiful person in this whole entire world," he blushed.
I blushed too. It was a quiet silence. "I love you too," i finally whispered. He looked at me smiling. We sat on the grass, my head resting on his shoulder.
"Wanna play 20 questions?" He asked.
"Alright," i agreed, "go first."
"Hmmm... he thought.
-skips some questions-
We were almost finished with 20 questions. Simon was on his last question.
"Do you believe in Love at First Sight?" He asked
I thought about it and finally answered, "i do." Then he grinned at me.
"Okay, Rowan, what's your last question?" He asked.
"Okay, uhh, how about you? Do you believe in Love at First Sight?" I asked.
He never answered the question though. Again, it was another peaceful silence. If he didn't want to answer i wasn't going to make him answer it. "It's getting late, we should probably get back," he said while getting up. He took my hand and pulled me up. We walked back home, but in front of Simons house was a lady, and she had too much make up on if i say so myself. She looked kinda annoyed. (btw it's Mrs. Quickly if you were wondering) Mr. Brown, was trying to run to her. Uh oh, does Mr. Brown like that lady? The lady got into her carriage and took off. We walked to Mr. Brown.
"Who was she?" Simon asked.
Mr. Brown only glared," none of your business." Then he stomped back into the house. We walked in together, and heard talking upstairs, immediately we walked up together.
"What's ruined?" Seb asked, while Simon and i stood in the doorway.
"I can't support my own family, i never could," Mr. Brown said. "Your Great Aunt Adelaide had been supporting us for years with a monthly allowance, and she said if i didn't remarry she would stop the allowance."
Everyone looked at him sadly.
"And that women was my last chance, our last chance."
