I didn't think twice as I grabbed the gun I saw in the water and pulled the trigger, aiming at this man's head.
Adrenaline rushed through me, and my actions were doing themselves without consulting the rational side of my brain.
I killed him.
Jin came to the surface of the puddle violently and took a huge breath in, throwing his wet hair back because of the power he threw his head back to breathe. His eyes were closed and his mouth was wide open, gaping for air.
My thoughts were blurry, I let go of the gun that fell back into the water as all my members shook and my lungs didn't welcome all the oxygen I needed, I panted.
"I killed him," I whispered with a shaky voice.
After a few seconds when Jin could breathe normally again. He slowly pushed himself up on his feet and looked down at my shaking self, his own body still weak from all the efforts he made the past hour. "I told you to stay back."
My head jerked up to meet his narrowed eyes. Shock let place to anger. Was he being serious right now? "Aren't you happy I stepped in?"
"I'm happy a kid didn't pierce my head with a bullet." He walked away.
My head turned red with anger. I killed a man, to save his life, and he dared to speak to me like that. I wanted to jump on him and take his eyes out of their sockets. "Is it too complicated to say 'thank you, Namsu, it was him or me'?!"
"Let's not argue." He sighed and kept walking, not even bothering to look up.
I felt really hurt by his behavior. Really hurt. I didn't have any words but hurt. I cursed under my breath and followed him, anger streaming in my veins, boiling my blood.
We got away and found ourselves on another balcony of another hotel room.
Jin bent down against the wall barrier delimiting the end of the balcony. He signaled me to crouch down so I joined his side against my will. At that very moment, I didn't even want to be near him.
Without looking at me, he explained the situation. "There're gangs out there. Wait here, I'm going to clear the path."
Just as if it wasn't enough, my anger almost came out in smoke from my ears. "Are you freaking serious?! Your plan is so stupid! We'd be safer the both of us out there."
He locked eyes with mine, making it impossible to dare look away. "You do as I say."
"I want to help!!" I whisper-yelled. If you had death wishes, you talked back to him with these eyes; well, I probably had a death wish. But I couldn't just say nothing. I was capable, I didn't want to just be there and quietly look at everything he did. Watching him being killed and just doing nothing! I couldn't! I wouldn't allow that! I couldn't live with it!
Jin stepped back from against the wall. "You'll help me."
I expected him to just ignore me and walk away but he handed me a long rifle.
I looked at it, eyes round and surprised. "W-What?..."
"Stand up." I obeyed and he positioned the weapon on the wall for support. "Do you know how to use it?"
I gulped. "Not at all." I never thought he'd give me this responsibility. I immediately calmed down, my anger settling in the corner of my stomach.
"Position yourself behind it, and put your hands on the cove." I did as he said. "Put your shoulders straighter." He instructed and put both his hands on top of my shoulders and pushed on my blades with his thumb to make me straighten my posture. I tried not to shift under his hands and just let him do whatever he wanted to do.
