Ryder's POV
Here I am laying on Addilyne's couch with her asleep on my chest she got suspended for twelve days this time and I don't blame her I'm gonna be staying with her for awhile my parents are both business workers and are on a trip to Japan and don't know when they will be back I look down and just admire how peaceful she is and beautiful but I can't get it out of my head "that's what he would tell me you deserve everything I do to you" her broken defeated voice when she said it broke my heart I hope thy sick bastard rots in hell I feel Addilyne start to move and wake up she looks up and just looks adorable
"Damn I've gone soft"i thought to myself
"Hey baby"i whisper
"Mhmm"she mumbles than yawns
She rest her chin on her hands on my chest and we lay there looking into each other's eyes
"I think you deserve to know"she says out of the blue
"Know what beautiful"i ask
"Everything my past about tyler" she says quietly
"When I was ten and Tyler was fourteen mom was on her way to get us from a birthday party and a drunk driver collided against her car she died instantly I was broken inside I didn't talk eat sleep for weeks but I didn't cry it didn't hit me that my mom was gone than about a month the drinking started than the hiting started with just slapping us than it escalated he would beat us with belt buckles anything he could grab we would get in trouble in school to have to stay after so he would be passed out I would take the fall for Tyler all the time I got it so much worse and that monster would tell me it's because I look like her than Tyler turned eighteen he left he didn't say goodbye he didn't help me he just left he broke his promise the day she died he promised me he would always be there he would never leave me than one night I was in my room crying it all hit me and it all hit me at once I finally realized she wasn't coming back and neither was Tyler he came staggering in and just started beating me he would always yell
"It's your fault you deserve this!"
I would scream for him to stop but he never did he would usually leave me there but that night he started to unbutton my pants I was screaming and struggling he just hit me in the head and told me to shut up and take it he got my shirt off and almost got my pants off when I reached over and grabbed the jewelry box my mother gave me and smashed his head while he was down I ran and ran to the neighbors and as far as I know he is still in prison and I've always hoped that he would rot in that place"she said sounding tired of it all
All I knew to do was hold her
"I'm sorry baby you are so strong for what you have been through"i whispered
I could tell she was tired but she was fighting sleep
"Go to sleep babe I'll be right here when you wake up" I told her
"I'm not tired"she mumbled back
"Addilyne Storme I know your tired go to sleep"i said sternly but kindly and kissed her head
"Not broken just bent" she mumbled than fell asleep
